Tips on Buying a Vostok Watch
I own many Russian-made watches from a variety of manufacturers. But of all the Russian watches I own Vostok is my favorite brand.
The styles are simple but strong. The watches are durable. But most importantly Vostok watches are ridiculously low priced. I don't know of any other mechanical watch built to this level of quality that sells for under a hundred dollars. (And if you know of one I hope you'll post it at the bottom of this page so I can buy one.)
To put it simply, Vostok watches are a bargain.

Why You Should Buy a Vostok Watch
Price and quality are two reasons
There are lots of good reasons to buy a Vostok watch but the main reason is value. You can buy a brand new Vostok watch with warranty for between $40 and $100. That is an exceptional price for a mechanical watch.Another reason is style. If you like functional, simple, rugged men's wristwatches, Vostok might be for you.
Here's a review of the Vostok Amphibia, one of the company's most popular current models.
About the Vostok Watch Company

Vostok began making watches during World War II, although they didn't start using the Vostok brand name until the sixties.
The company was appointed an official supplier of watches for the Defense Department of the Soviet Union in 1965.
Vostok has received a number of awards and commendations including the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technologies of the Russian Federation in 2002.

Difference Between Vostok and Vostok-Europe
Different manufacturers, same movements
When you are shopping around for a Vostok watch you'll probably encounter many watches by Vostok-Europe. Vostok and Vostok-Europe are not the same company but they are related.
Vostok watches are made in Russia. Vostok-Europe watches are made in Lithuania but use internal mechanical movements made by Vostok in Russia.
Both brands are excellent. The main difference is in style and price. Vostok-Europe watches generally feature more modern designs and are slightly more expensive.

- I'd love to have a Russian watch but unfortunately the policy from www.smirs.com do not allow buyer from indonesia. See http://www.smirs.com/first_time.php
What is wrong with Indonesia? Our Defense Department is often bought Sukhoi from Russia. If any of you could find a way out please send email to wahyuwdd@yahoo.co.id
