Weber 4411001 Spirit E-210 Propane Grill, Black

The first thing that crosses your mind when you lay eyes on the Weber Spirit E 210 propane grill is how amazingly sophisticated looks compared to the previous 3711001 propane grill of yesteryears. With clean lines and side tables that are all on the same level as the burner itself you figure that Weber has finally managed to cross over into the 21st century with quite a bang.

The second thing that goes through your mind when you check out the shiny new Weber 4411001 and compared to your old grill is what the heck happened to the wheels! Well, as it turns out it was a design decision that was taken thanks to the new super heavy duty rolling casters that Weber managed to engineer that offer you the same kind of durable portability without the extra weight and the size.

Ideal for the amateur griller and appreciated by the pros

The Weber Spirit line has always been about offering everybody a chance to try out grilling and making sure that their learning curve is as short and smooth as possible. However, the updated features on the Weber grill mean that it is now grill that you can keep around when you finally ascend to the same level as budding grilling legends. While this model is considered to be the basic in the Spirit line (and also quite cheap to buy - it is cheaper than getting an iPad and will probably outlive it by a decade or two!) It packs quite a punch.

All that power without the price

Two stainless steel burners that channel all the propane from your gas tank creating a 26,000 BTU output of pure awesome. All of this power is then used to heat close to 460 in.² of cooking area courtesy of porcelain enameled cooking grates that have been designed to take away all the drippings from the meat to the side. This has been quite a clever addition to the Weber E210 barbecue gas grill and really makes cleaning the grill a lot easier. Additionally, this also prevents any of the drippings from messing up your stainless steel burners by blocking their holes. I cannot tell you how many countless hours I have spent cleaning both stovetop and barbecue burners with a cleaning pin. Not only is it a labor-intensive task that will leave you sweating and your hands soiled with grease later on, you also know that you will end up having to clean the grill again the next time you cook. This grill is quite merciful in that regard and you really begin to appreciate the small things that Weber includes even on their basic propane gas grills.

The two things that come to mind when you say Weber are efficiency and amazing build quality. The cooking grates on this grill are coated with porcelain which means that they will never rust or peel and are as so easy to clean that you might end up cursing your old grill! This grill also features Weber's uber-famous flavorizer bars which not only help in efficiently trapping the heat from the burners but also ensure a slow cool down.

The Weber Spirit is all features!

Even though this is considered by many to be Weber's basic model in the Spirit line, Weber has an compromised on a single thing with this grill. The grill has a temperature gauge right in the middle and considering the fact that this is one of the few beginner grills that truly has an even temperature across the entire cooking surface the need to prod each of your 20 hamburger patties with a temperature gauge is extinct. Whenever you're cooking for a large gathering if you've taken the temperature of one meat patty or are using the built-in thermometer for an idea of what the meat is cooking at then you are pretty much done. No need to repeat that 20 times any more.

This grill also features a dual cabinet to store your propane gas tank and some supplies just like its elder sibling from the Genesis line, except that the Cabinet is a tad bit smaller.

To maximize your cooking convenience and ensure that you don't have too be too careful when using the grill Weber has moved all the controls to the right side including the pushbutton ignition that is also standard on this grill. The only problem that you might have with this setup is if you happen to be left-handed in which case you might have to move a bit whenever you have to control the temperature or the flame with this grill.

There are three tool hooks on either side of the grill which gives you a total of six different points to hang up your cooking gear. If you are right-handed then I would suggest that you load up a spatula and a pair of tongs on the right next to the controls and reverse the setup if you are left-handed. I usually cook using two different kind of spatulas which makes flipping hamburger patties and the like a lot easier. The left side of the grill also has a convenient side tables which is flush with the level of the grill. While there are some people who might prefer to have the controls upfront and both the side tables free to use, it really isn't that much of a problem when using it in real life because food really moves off of the grates pretty quickly.

This grill also has a nylon coated handle which is heat resistant so you never have any problems checking in on your hot dogs. I remember the first time I tried my hand at grilling and all was going well until I began chatting up an old friend and without realizing where I was putting my hands touched the metal part of this old grill that we had at the time. I still have the mark with the grill burnt the outside edge of my pinky and let me tell you burns like these are not a right of passage in the grilling world. Thankfully, the entire handle and the lid is insulated pretty well which means you will never suffer from any burns whatsoever.

Home Depot no more

When this grill initially came out there was quite a scuffle on most grilling forums because people realized that everybody purchasing these grills from Home Depot got cooking grates that were actually supposed to be sold with the Genesis model of the grill. Since the Genesis line from Weber is considered to be the upper range of grills, everybody was thrilled and was trying to get their hands on the Spirit 210 from Home Depot instead. I recently checked what cooking grates they will giving people with the Weber 4411001 E210 propane gas grill and it turns out that there are giving you the right cooking grates.

While it is true that the cooking grates that ship with the Genesis grill a slightly better owing to the fact that they are made out of cast-iron instead of sheet metal, you must also realize that the Genesis grill is about $200 more expensive than the Spirit. Considering the fact that Home Depot not have the same grill with the same cooking grates in the store, you might as well ordered from Amazon and save yourself the hassle of driving down to your local store to pick it up - after all 120 pounds is no laughing matter, well unless you're Governor Arnold!
