A Cliff%u2019s Notes version on grills and the story of my life

Every piece of grilling equipment that I have ever bought, from the $150 dollar Char Broil I bought in college in 1990 to the Automatic Hot Dog Grilling Machine that I picked up from WalMart a couple of months back has lasted less than a few years.

Apparently, Graydon Blair was another person who was having massive issues with this grill and was wondering if he had the same "grill-breaker" curse that I did - that is what my Father used to call me after I managed to wreck 3 BBQ grills in one year. The classic charcoal grill was totaled when I was learning to drive and managed to reverse the old family Ford Tauras into the grill and a couple of garbage cans!

Once that happened, we've tried to get our grills as cheap as possible and for some reason I guess that managed to stick with me through most of my adult life. Thankfully for Gordon, he met the woman of his dreams who was a die-hard Weber fan. Heck! She could recite the pluses in her sleep and turns out he often had to endure a bunch of lectures before he caved in. Gordon proceeded to order one from Amazon, left a 5 star rating and a testimonial that would make the Spirit 310 blush! Click here to read his testimonial!

I, on the other hand am too lazy to assemble grills by myself but from the looks of it, my girl just might appreciate the extra effort!

Small grill, but large cooking area

The crazy thing about the Weber spirit e-310 gas grill is that despite its small footprint it manages to squeeze about 500+ square inches of cooking surface area. Two main burners feed into grates that have the grilling capacity of 424 in.² along with a warming rack of 112 in.².

Decent cooking surface area + high-power burners = BBQ awesomeness

Most people in my opinion, focus too much only on the cooking area of a grill. Instead, you should also take into account how much time the grill would take to cook up the food that you ladle up on the cooking surface area.

What is the point of having a grill that has 600 in.² of cooking space but takes half an hour to cook a medium rare steak. Despite its modest 424 in.², this grill has three oversized stainless steel burners that are capable of pushing through about 36,000 BTU of heat.

So how much food can the Weber Spirit E310 LP gas grill cook?

Half a dozen fish, about three dozen hot dogs and a dozen hamburgers can easily fit on the Weber 4421001. Just make sure that you don't write cooking all of those things at the same time.

Unlike most other grills, the Spirit E301 uses one side table as a warming rack. Ideally, I would have preferred to have a dedicated space on top of the grill but I'm pretty sure it would ruin the otherwise beautiful design.

While you're cooking those hamburgers, you can warm up about six hamburger buns on the warming rack. All in all, for the limited size and footprint that the grill offers it can really get a lot of cooking done.

However, with close to 40,000 BTU of heat this grill can cook all of that stuff pretty quickly.

What other features does the Weber 4421001 have?

Everything that you would expect from a Weber grill is included, and then some. The six tool hooks placed on either side of the grill is something that left-handed folks will appreciate a lot more than the rest of us.

1. Porcelain enameled flavorizer bars

The secret behind every Weber propane grill's incredible efficiency are these flavor bars that Weber now puts into pretty much every propane grill. They have been experimenting with smaller grills as well and the amount of food that was grills can cook quickly with the addition of these bars is simply astounding.

2. Porcelain and stainless steel exterior

Most of the heavy duty grills that you can get on the market today are made out of stainless steel. The best part about stainless steel is that you don't really have to worry about painting it for any other reason than aesthetics.

Although will enable parts of the grill are enameled with porcelain which not only means that they are impossible to scratch in addition to being fade proof. Of course, that really goes a long way in helping you make sure that you can clean the grill without having to worry about messing the paint job because this grill doesn't have one!
