Weber 758001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill, Blue

Yes, you read it right. A One-Touch Charcoal grill. No scooping ash out with spoons and ladles, no charcoal smudges on your clothes and best of all, no more bits of ash flying around your back yard covering everything from your pet dog to you lilies in the corner. God save you if you have a pool!

Featuring the most convenient cash dispensing mechanism that I have ever seen, this classic grill features a bunch of convenient extras that will really make cooking on a charcoal grill easy without the mess.

Forget everything else, the One-Touch ash cleaning is the reason you want this grill

While it is true that Weber has been making charcoal grills for a very long time, I think they're finally struck gold with the one touch charcoal grill.

Cooking on a charcoal grill means that you get the traditional taste of chicken that is just not available anywhere else no matter what kind of propane grill you use. Heck! $2000 propane gas grill couldn't give you the same charcoal laden taste that this $150 grill can.

However, one single problem that everybody has with charcoal grills is cleaning up after you are done cooking on them. Not only do you have to worry about where you are going to throw the ash, in most cases you have to do it immediately especially if you are using your charcoal grill on the road or by the campfire.

Weber has managed to make cleaning the charcoal grill the simplest thing ever. With the push of a lever, one single touch engages aluminum blades at the base of the grill which empties out all the ash into the receptacle pan. Just walk over to a dumpster and get the pan over! There is no need to mess around with gloves or worry about having to wash clothes.

"As much as I have loved my Weber, ashes strewn across the patio have always been a problem"

That is a comment from a AP, who bought the Weber Gold grill instead of the Silver one because the enclosed as catching pan caught his eye.

While an ash catching plate is available on the Weber One Touch Silver kettle grill, the "bucket type" ash catcher is truly a marvel, especially if you live in an area that happens to have a lot of wind. You never have to worry about the ashes flying across your yard and managing to lodge themselves everywhere from your dogs fur to your prize petunias.

Everything that you would expect from a Weber and more

If you have ever owned a Weber outdoor cooking appliance before, and I don't think there is anything more that we can say about the excellent build quality of all of their products.

Everything from the heavy gauge steel lid and bowl which have then been coated with a generous layer of porcelain to the rust resistant aluminum legs has been crafted from the best materials possible.

The most efficient grill design ever manufactured

Even though Weber has tested close to 300 different designs, they are yet to find something that is as good as the classic kettle design at keeping the heat in. They have made slight modifications on the inside of the bowl which now prevent flare-ups from occurring.

The heavy gauge steel that has been used to make the lid and the bowl has been designed so that most of the heat is retained inside the grill, even after the coals have run out.

The generous layer of porcelain that covers the grill bowl from top to bottom helps spread out the heat evenly towards the cooking grates which makes the One Touch Gold one of the few charcoal grills on the market that are capable of producing even temperatures across the entire cooking surface.

Not to mention the fact that all of this porcelain makes the grill pretty much scratch proof in addition to being rust and fade resistant. Since the grill scratch proof, cleaning it is as easy as cleaning up the outside of your car.

What about the cooking surface area?

Surprisingly, there isn't a lot of information about the cooking surface area of the grill or the cooking grates that are used.

The cooking grates are made out of nickel coated cast-iron which makes them some of the best in the business. In fact, the $800 Weber Genesis grill uses similar cooking grates, therefore you know that you are getting an amazing value for your money with this grill.

So how much food can the Weber One-Touch Gold cook?

From what I have seen, this grill has a cooking surface area of about 480 in.² which means that it can easily hold six full-size takes, a dozen burgers and a medium-sized turkey - just make sure that you don't load it all up in one shot!
