Buy Windows XP - Save Time & Money!

Independent computer research has proved beyond doubt that XP performs better than Vista. Experts put both operating systems through a series of tests, to find out which would perform the best, and XP did all of the tasks more efficiently than Vista did.

Researchers installed both patched and unpatched versions of the two systems. They were run on a Dell laptop with a dual-core processor and they used the Microsoft Office application with each version of these operating systems.

XP and Vista were set a number of tasks by the Office software, such as creating a complex document and some presentation slides. The boffins recorded the time it took for each operating system to "crunch" the numbers. When it came to comparing the results, they were in for quite a surprise.

The research team were of course expecting to discover that Vista was the fastest. But, amazingly, XP came first on all of the tasks that were set. In fact XP was able, on average, to complete its task 2 times quicker than its rival. There were a few tasks where Vista came quite close, but overall XP scored a blow-out victory.

The strength of XP is its speed of operation. It may have a few minor weaknesses, but even the casual, home pc user can see the speed difference. Many "power users" felt let down by a drastic reduction in speed when they installed Vista. After going from XP to Vista, and suffering problems, many people have "downgraded" to XP! You could see proof of this on tv, when Apple ridiculed the Vista "upgrade". It has been somewhat of a PR disaster for Microsoft.

Another strength of XP is that it makes economical use of your computer's memory. On the other hand tests have shown that Vista is greedy with memory. This means that your favorite games, applications, or programs may be hindered by the "memory-hungry" Vista.

Practically every piece of software out there is compatible with Vista's predecessor. And you can buy Windows XP or XP Pro very cheaply on eBay. When you consider the strengths and weaknesses of each operating system, it makes perfect sense to stick with XP.
