The Rosary is divided into five sections called "decades". Each decade represents a mystery or event in the life of Jesus. There are four sets of "Mysteries of the Rosary" (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious). The Rosary therefore contains a total of twenty mysteries. Each set of Mysteries (The Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious) are said on specific days of the week. During private recitation of the Rosary, each decade requires devout meditation on a specific mystery. Public recitation of the Rosary (two or more people), requires a leader to announce each of the mysteries before the decade, and start each prayer.

To Start the Rosary, say The Apostle's Creed. Then one Our Father, followed by three Hail Mary's. The Glory Be is Said after the three Hail Mary's at the beginning of the Rosary. Read the First Mystery and while reflecting on the Mystery, Say one Our Father, Ten Hail Mary's, one Glory Be and one Fatima Prayer. Repeat this process for all five Mysteries.
