From the lens Buy Chantix? My Girlfriend Tried Chantix...How'd She Do?.

  • Chantix Cost? Jun 9, 2011 @ 12:56 pm | delete
At first I wasn't sure about the Chantix cost factor, but it's actually been cheaper for me this second year since I've stopped smoking, so the cost of Chantix should be measured by the results, not the $.

I have been smoke free for one month now...I have been a smoker for about 12 years and couldnt be happier with myself. I have taken chantix twice before and although the cravings were gone I wasnt really ready and I didnt have the support I needed. I know have the support and the will to quit and can honestly say for the first time in 12 years that I WILL NOT smoke another cigarette in my life! I know its only been a month, but its been so easy and I already feel better and have even started exercising regularly. I love the new smoke free me. It doesnt come at a cost though, I will say I have been a bit blue, and somewhat irritable at times, but the rewards are priceless! I just keep telling myself and family that it is just temporary and in time everything will be fine. Oh, and did I mention I am saving a TON of money?! Yeah, thats a huge motivator for me!

Good luck to you all and wish you a long, healthy, tobacco free life!

I am on day 8 of Chantix. I smoked the first 7 and last night realized I was out of cigarette's but decided not to run to the store. I woke up this morning and for the first time in over 20 years didn't smoke. I feel a little weird, maybe a little hyped up or something, but more than anything I'm AMAZED. I haven't tried to quit before. I didn't even bother. I'm a compulsive/obsessive guy with little will power. I knew it would be pointless. However, as you get older you realize you have to pay better attention to your health. So I tried it. Again, I am AMAZED.

My Doctor had been after me to quit smoking for about 10 years. I believe I had tried every otc smoking aid on the market. Aft smoking for about 40 years, My health had deteriorated considerably when my doctor gave me the two prescriptions for Chantix. i took the first and conpleted about half of the second when I didn't want another cigarette. That was two years ago and I haven't wanted one since. My doctor said Chantix is the only thing that will work. He made a believer out of me.

I am finishing up my 4th week of Chantix and have not had a cigarette in 3 weeks. I smoked for over 40 years, usually a pack a day. I have not had any nausea but have had some wild dreams, actually kind of cool. I never really thought I could do it but I am. I still have cravings for a smoke at certain times but I tell myself all the pros of not smoking. I did tell a lot of people I was going to quit and I think that helped psychologically. Thank you Chantix.

I have smoked for 34 years. I have been on Chantix one week. Today is the first day off. It feels like the monkey is still on my back, but he is easily shrugged off. I hope and pray this is the one. But right now, talking about smoking is like teasing the monkey...so I'm gonna go do something positive and we will see how tomorrow goes...

So yes I am experiencing some of the side effects but its far better than smoking side effects. I've been on the medicine for 4 weeks now and its been glorious! no cravings! I'll admit, I've had a few into the 4 weeks but was only able to have a few drags and realized it was doing nothing for me feeling wise, made my lungs hurt already and can't stand the smell of it anymore! I think at moments I just want to try one because how much I hate is almost too good to be true so I want to confirm it. I'm almost out of cigarettes so I don't see it as being an ongoing routine of "just checking to see....yep!" There have been plenty of people reminding me that people have committed suicide from Chantix but I remind them that of ALL the people I know to have taken it not a single one of them had severe problems and I don't trust that its not the tobacco companies behind all the advertisement. I am SO proud of myself!! NOW, if I could just get my Mom to want to quit!!

I have started my 2nd week of Chantix and it is a miracle drug, I don't have the cravings, irritability, jitters, appears to be smooth sailing and I am totally happy. I was hooked on cigarettes for 38 years, the cancer stick controlled my life, my every movement, my every waking moment and I am happy to be free of the addiction. I had tried every stop smoking aid that had been on the market and failed with each one but Chantix is so different and i am happy.

This is my third day on Chantix. I've smoked for 36 years. I've quit a few times. Two times when I was I pregnant. The third pregnancy I smoked like a freight train. Third time I quit using Zyban. Quit for one year. Got mad one night and stupidly picked them up again. Fourth time I quit cold turkey. That lasted for six months or so. Second grandchild was born two weeks ago today and I'm determined to quit and stay quit this time. I've had no side effects so far. Maybe hyped me up to some degree. After reading these postings, it has made me feel more confident. Seems like I'm not craving them as much already. I start my two doses a day tomorrow. My husband smokes and dips, so I hope his smoking in front of me doesn't bother me. He says he wants to do the Chantix, but he we'll see. He's never tried to quit in his 38 years of smoking and dipping. I'll try to update.

My doctor suggested Chantix after Zyban had failed. I had tried all the nicotine replacement therapies. I have been smoking for 23 years and tried to quit many times. I am now on day 45 with Chantix. I relapsed twice early on but the cigarettes tasted terrible. I am now a month without smoking. Best of luck to all trying to quit!

I smoked for 30 years, 1 1/2 packs a day. I have been on chantex for 1 month, I have been smoke free! I did have to modify some of my behaviors that were trigger points for me but it was not hard to do at all. Chantex is truly a wonder drug. I LOVE BEING A NONSMOKER!

I have been a smoker for 35 years. I started on Chantrix and within 2-1/2 weeks I had stoped smoking, that was about 6 weeks ago. Now my wife is takening Chantrix.

This is my second day using Chantix to stop using chewing tobacco. I now seem to get no satisfaction or "high" from chewing. It just feels like I need a "chew". I have tried the nicotine gum and Zyban in the past, but went back to Skoal Chewing .

I have to admit it does what it says it will. I think quitting will work this time. With the new Taxes on Tobacco, I can't afford to continue this bad habit like I have for the last 30 years. My wife and kids will have to get use to my grumpiness for the next few days.

I smoked for 39 1/2 years...and living in New York I just couldn't afford smokes any more, so I was planning and saying 'I'll quit soon..." then I had heart surgery after a heart attack scare and my cardiologist, who nicknamed me "walking death" by the way, really got in my face after surgery and said: "you either quit, or this is probably the last time I will see you, 'cause you WILL die!" On the Chantix as soon as I got home from the hospital...my God it has been a godsend...54 days smoke free today, and other than driving my car, and even that is no biggie, I have NO desire...Yeee Haaaa

My Boyfriend and I Started Chantix January 1st. We stopped buying cigs the day before. The first two days I raided the trash, ashtrays and even looked in the driveway looking for buts. January 5th I felt terrible all day then I started puking and shitting this continued for 2 days. I am tired...so tired. I havent smoked in three days. I have been a smoker for 32 years. I have tried the patch, the cold turkey, the wellbutrin, the patch,...the gum...this is the EASIEST quitting smoking has ever been. I don't plan on stopping the chantix--these side effects are nothing compaired to the horrific side affects of dying from Lung Cancer

July 26 2007 I decided to quit, didn't have a smoke all day. July 27 2007 I awoke and said "OMFG I'm NOT gonna make it!" So I called my doc office told them what I was attempting to do and they said "Come on in!" That day my doc gave me a script for CHANTIX. It's May 18 2008 and I'm still smoke free. Wanting to quit wasn't enough for me, I needed help and CHANTIX was there. During the first week I developed a sore throat that stayed with me for about six months but it went away.I don't know if it was a side effect but I feel and SMELL so much better. Look for me @ pogo.com AKA Mommydearest8589 I swear by CHANTIX!!

I was a smoker for 28 yrs.I took the pills for only 2 weeks, and am now smoke free. Along with taking the pills, try changing some of the habits you use for smoking-you always smoke at certain times and places, alter them. I have moments, but they are rare, and pass very quickly. Thank you chantix!!!

I wish this stuff was around when I quit, cold turkey was brutal. My husband has been on Chantix for about 3 weeks. Previous attempts to quit weren't pretty and didn't stick, this has been totally different. After smoking for 32 years he's cig-free for 15 days now. Couldn't be more proud of him.

I smoked for 33 years. Went to Schick smoking center, tried the gum, patches NO LUCK! My doctor told me about Chantrix. That was 28 days ago and I haven't touched a cigarette yet. I won't say I don't have my moments but they pass really quick and this time its forever! I owe Chantrix my life!
