OK, this is a really cool service from Amazon.com Grocery. If you hate going to the grocery store like me this is the answer for you!

Amazon is now offering groceries online. You can buy in bulk and get free shipping too. Check out the small sampling of great offers I've got posted here to get an idea of what you can get. I personally like to buy baking goods, pet food and snacks online.

We can't buy from Amazon in Australia but we do have one called Groceries on Line but I go to the supermarket for my few. Most of my requirements come from the garden and home preserves.

It's a very new concept in South Africa - and hideously expensive as the delivery charges are high. Delivery also won't happen if there aren't enough orders for an area - and then only on specific days. That was the two times I tried it in 2004/5.

I wonder what the minimum catchment area (in terms of inhabitants) would have to be before stores could offer this, cost effectively?
