Before playing your first live guitar performance, be sure to follow these simple and practical tips to help you make it a performance you will never forget!
- Be yourself - The last thing you want to do is go up onstage pretending to be someone that you're not - unless it is part of your act to play a "role". Be yourself and smile at your friends and family during any live guitar performance.
- Engage the audience - Some people close their eyes when they are really into a live guitar performance, and this is fine, but be sure to make eye contact with the audience periodically throughout your performance. This will let them know that you are in control.
- Don't get drunk - This is huge. If you are nervous about your first live guitar performance, it's okay to have a few beers before the show but the last thing you want to do is get completely wasted and make a fool of yourself. A sober mind is a mind in control.
