LCD technology uses a flat panel to offer a very clear display in televisions. LCD offers the most convenient format in which to watch television because it operates well under any light conditions while its low weight and ultra slim design makes it suitable for any room location.
LCD technology has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time, all the way to becoming a genuine rival to plasma technology, and it has some advantages over a plasma television. LCD technology does not suffer by light output degrading due to phosphor wear with time. LCD televisions and computer monitors have no burn-in risk because no phosphor is resident. So the main advantage over a plasma television is you don't get burn-in of static images and because they use less power you will also save energy.
