They first appeared together that year in Plane Crazy, released on May 15. Later that year, the cartoon classic, Steamboat Willie was released on November 18, 1928, at the Colony Theater in New York. This was Minnie's second public appearance with Mickey. In total she's been in 73 cartoons.
She is second only to Mickey in popularity, and in fact, was honored in 1986 when Disney named it the year of Minnie Mouse. She also had her own T.V. show, called Totally Minnie in 1988.
And of course, you can't miss her presence if you go to one of the Disney theme parks. She's always around, so be sure to say "hi" to her when you see her!
