For Sale...One Dog previously enjoyed...by Thousands
I have been getting hate mail because people think I am a heartless, pet-hating so and so.
Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, I love my dog so much, I want to share him with the world!
He has become a mascot of sorts for me and my clip art website and he has been downloaded thousands of times. To say I Love Him would be an understatement. My kids love him, my Wife loves him, the neighbors don't believe he exists...
And yet, in spite of all the adoration we heap upon him, regardless of the near iconic status to which we have raised him, he still remains nameless.
It would have been so easy to name him when we first got him. A simple "Rex", "Fido" or "Spot" would have sufficed nicely. And in hind sight, that would have been the right thing to do. But now...now that he has become so entwined in the fabric of my own as well as my family's life, now that he has become a cherished part of so many people's existence, naming him is a task that has taken on a new and incomprehensible importance. To find a name that truly represents what he has become in the hearts and minds of so many is a challenge that I do not take lightly.
So for now, we refer to him as 'The Dog' much in the way one might say 'Your Highness' or 'Mr. President' and we avert our eyes slightly and contemplate the words for a brief moment as they reverently escape our lips.
It is because of this, that I and my family have decide to ascend him to the next plateau. He has so touched our lives and the lives of many who have taken him in that we feel it is time for the rest of the world to share in our love for 'The Dog'
