The following are all official Disney Toy Story games. Only two, however, can be located directly on a Disney site. The others link to a free page hosting the original Disney games. My guess is that there will be more out shortly with the upcoming release of Toy Story 3.

Toy Story Make a Picture - Pick from four Toy Story backdrops and drag in characters and items to create your own Buzz Lightyear movie scene. You can add text bubbles, flip the characters around and change their size. There's a cool little animation when you want to erase the scene and start over: a bucket of water comes up, splashes the whole scene clean and you can start all over.

Buzz Lightyear's Flight for Distance - You get 10 chances to move Buzz Lightyear across the room and over obstacles by getting him to leap off of his jump off point, land on a ball, and bounce to the next landing spot. Many levels to play. Free and no registration required. My youngest loved this one and played for weeks.

Catch that Moving Van - Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to race Buzz Lightyear and Woody down the street in order to catch the moving van. You have to dodge the other cars on the street by moving up or down in order to get around them. Watch out! This moves fast!

Operation Alien Rescue - Use arrow keys to move Buzz Lightyear from side to side and the space bar to jump and rescue the LGMs. Took me a bit to manage the controls but kids will have no problem. Many levels and completely free play.

Toy Story Bowl-a-Rama - Requires just the mouse to move a bowling ball in position and knock over the aliens. Can play with up to four people or one person can play four different characters. Position the bowl FIRST before clicking the "bowl" button. You can't reposition the ball once you've sent it down the lane.

Space Ranger Training - I didn't really care for this one, maybe because I couldn't get past the first level. All you need to do is use the mouse to shoot opponents with your laser and score points but sometimes there weren't enough opponents for me to even get the required points to move on. Kind of lame.

Galactic Shootout - Much more fun than the previous laser game. Use your mouse to target your laser on your opponents as you move across the screen to the next level. Collect life capsules to replenish your health.

Kids love to see Buzz Lightyear in other contexts like puzzles, stickers, and board books. When they become enthralled with a particular character, you can take advantage and use it as a learning opportunity to work with them on reading, writing, math, hand-eye coordination, and imagination. My oldest would have entire conversations with his Buzz Lightyear action figure. Here are a few Buzz Lightyear figures and a puzzle to get you started.

Only a few animated movies actually endear themselves to me - Cars, Finding Nemo, and certainly Toy Story. I think it was the witty dialogue, the amazing cast, and the constant action. Woody's life centered on Andy and it was gut wrenching when he felt he was being replaced in Andy's heart. The ending teaches us that there's enough love to go around and that's a wonderful parting thought.
