Helpful Link List When Visiting BYU-Hawaii and the North Shore

BYU-Hawaii Official Website
Official Website for BYU-Hawaii. I graduated in April of 2002. I loved it there and learned so much from school's mission. From the Hales to the Little Circle... BYU-Hawaii makes good memory every day.
Polynesian Cultural Center
Tourists give mixed reviews about the PCC, but those are normally given by visitors who don't hire a tour guide or people who can't even live one day without alcohol (how lame).
Don't miss the Night Show "Horizon" and book a Luau package. Get there early in a day and hire a tour guide and go all out while paying respect to all of the chiefs of the islands.
I worked as a concierge in Honolulu for a few years after graduating from school and all of my guests appreciated the recommendation.
Hawaii's Laie Inn: Small hotel on Oahu's North Shore
Laie Inn offers accommodation for budget conscious guests. Perfect for those who do not rent cars while staying in Laie. If you just want to visit BYU, do PCC and may be a temple session, this hotel gives all you need. Book in advance if you are visiting during commencement.
Turtle Bay for More Activities
When I was at BYU-Hawaii, I spent a semester interning at this Turtle Bay. An upscale renovation changed the hotel catering to different kind of market than when it was Turtle Bay Hilton.
About 10 min drive north of Laie, Turtle Bay Resort offers golfing, horse back riding, rental car, restaurants and a bar.
The Official Site of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce - Oahu ...
The North Shore of Oahu. Renowned for its legendary beaches, Haleiwa is a favorite refuge for Hawaii's residents and a must-see for visitors. Book a surf lesson so you can say you did it.
"On Campus Jobs" at BYU-Hawaii
Popular jobs get taken just before a semester begins so arrive there early and start working. My easiest job there was as Aloha Center information desk guy. I surfed the net all day and got paid while greeting and giving visitors information.
Don't expect Laie to be like Provo and find jobs everywhere. Your choice of employment here is either at PCC or on Campus, just above the minimum wage. Perfect for students leaving home for the first time because it makes you appreciate their parents.
PCC Employment
You don't need to look like a hot Tahitian princess or a muscle built Poly (but it may help).
I worked on both campus and at PCC. Get a job at PCC even though you may look like a total mainlander with blue eyes and blond hair. You will enjoy and who knows, might end up finding an exotic eternal companion.
