Taser C2

As with any taser gun the C2 Taser is a hand held weapon which shoots two needle tipped electric darts in to the body of a would be attacker from about 15 feet away. However, the difference with this particular taser is that it can also be used as a stun gun if your attacker has actually been able to get close to you as well.

So how does it work?

As with any taser gun the C2 will eject the two electric darts once the trigger has been pressed and the cables that are attached to these needles stay connected to the C2 and then deliver a jolt of electrical current through to the body of the assailant for 5 seconds. Also the C2 is able to penetrate through up to 5cms of clothing and can be activated as many times as it is required (until the battery runs out and which are replaceable). By sending an electric shock into a would be assailant the C2 Taser will immobilize them for up to 30 seconds. It does this by over stimulating their nervous system which causes their body to uncontrollably contract their muscles and so incapacitate them. It is believed that an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 have been shocked by law enforcement officers during confrontations with a taser gun since they became available in 1998.

At present it is estimated that taser guns are used by about 10,000 law enforcement agencies as well as military installation around the globe and with another 130,000 being used by law enforcement agencies in the United States. At present there are more than 100,000 civilians in the US who own a taser gun and certainly there will be an increase in these numbers once the C2 Taser becomes available for purchase by civilians.

Although there are so many civilians who own a taser gun at present in the US and they are not considered to be a firearm there are some states in the US which either restrict or ban their use by people who are not members of a law enforcement agency.
