How To Improve The Cabbage Soup Diet Plan

The principle of the popular and spectacular Cabbage Soup Diet combines the cabbage soup, known for their slimming qualities and fruits, vegetables, meat, sometimes in unlimited quantities but not at the same time neither the same day.

Cabbage is known for having weight loss stimulating properties, by regulating the metabolism of sugar and fat and is rich in vitamin C, potassium and fiber. Fibers are indispensable to a good intestinal transit.

Peppers, tomatoes, carrots, celery, onions provide vitamins A & C, potassium, beta carotene, fiber and protein.

Improving the taste of this soup is allowed and can be done by replacing tomatoes and/or peppers by zucchini and the white cabbage by a green one.

Cabbage Soup Diet Recipes Basics

What is the principle of this 7-day soup routine?

The basic recipe for cabbage soup diet is the following one:

  • 1 white cabbage
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 kilo carrots
  • 6 large white onions
  • 1 bunch celery branches
  • 1 or 2 canned peeled tomatoes
  • 1 or 2 teaspoon vegetable broth in powder
Wash vegetables and cut them into pieces. Cover them with water and boil. Let simmer, add spices. This soup is consumed without salt. Eat as much soup as you like.

Caution!

The cabbage soup diet can also lead to nutritional deficiencies, so it is advisable to take a healthy breakfast:

Blend:
  • 1 glass skim milk
  • 2 tablespoon of protein powder
  • Few red berries
  • 1 teaspoon aspartam

Day One - Fruits

Ok, let's go!

Day One : Fruits

Today, you may eat as many fruits as you want except bananas.

Start the day by a protein drink.

Here's the recipe I personally used when I did the Cabbage Soup Diet:

  • 1/5 glas pure apple juice (NO Minut Maid or something else)
  • 4/5 glas skim milk
  • strawberries
  • 2 tablespoon protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon aspartam

Eat at least the Cabbage Soup for 10 o'clock collation, lunch and dinner.

Day Two - Vegetables

lets-lose-weightToday, in addition to the cabbage soup, you may eat as many vegetables as you want, except corn and peas.

PLUS...

... A potato for dinner.

Today's milkshake: replace the strawberries by kiwis.

Dinner: Oven potato

Sauce:

  • 100 G NO fat white cheese
  • 2 tablespoon pine nuts
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan
  • basil
  • garlic to taste

Combine all the ingredients, blend and serve with the potato.

Remember to drink at least 2 litres water.

Day Three - Fruits AND Vegetables

Today, you may eat as many fruits AND vegetables as well as soup as you like and want to.

Don't forget to drink your protein milkshake and replace the kiwis by cranberries.

Lunch idea:

Spinach with garlic and lemon juice

Have a 30 minutes walk that will help you burn more calories.

Drink at least 2 litres water.

Day Four: Bananas!

Today you are allowed to eat up to three bananas. So, here's how your day will be:

Breakfast: protein & banana milskake

10 o'clock: 1 banana

Dinner: soup + dessert: 1 banana

4 o'clock: protein & banana milshake

Supper: soup + dessert: 1 banana

Drink at least 2 litres water.

Don't forget to exercise...

Day Five: Fish or Chicken and 6 Tomatoes

lets-lose-weightToday you may eat fish or chicken and also 6 tomatoes.

Recipe idea:

Put in aluminum foil:

  • 150 g fish fillet
  • 3 sliced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • pepper, garlic, herbs to taste

Close the foil and cook in the oven.

Don't like tomatoes or can't eat tomatoes?

No problem, replace them by vegetables; that's what I did...

Idea:

  • 150 g chicken fillet
  • 150 g zucchini
  • 150 g eggplant
  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 taspoon olive oil
  • pepper, garlic, herbs to taste

Cook all the ingredients in a saucepan.

Remember to eat as much soup as you like!

Day Six: Beefsteack and Vegetables

lets-lose-weightToday, you are allowed to eat beefsteack and vegetables in addition to the soup.

Recipe idea:

  • 150 sliced beefsteak
  • 50 g soybean seeds
  • 50 g bamboo shoots
  • 1 oinion chopped
  • 1 carrot chopped
  • 50 g chinese mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • pepper, herbs to taste

Combine all the ingredients in a wok with 1 teaspoon oil.

Bon appétit!

Remember to eat a lot of soup!

Day Seven: Rice

You are allowed to eat rice for lunch and dinner in addition to the soup.

Recipe Idea:

Rice and Mediterrannean Vegetables

Ingredients:

  • 75 g rice
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1/2 zucchini chopped
  • 1/2 eggplant chopped
  • 1/2 pepper chopped
  • 1 oinion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable broth in powder
  • Garlic, pepper, herbs to taste

Combine all the vegetables and cook in a saucepan. Serve with rice.

30 min exercises will help you burn more calories.

The Diet Ended... Now What?

lets-lose-weightNow that your diet ended and that you lost some pounds (from 6 up to 10 and maybe more if you are overweight) what will happen?

What to do to not gain the pounds you just lost?

  • Eat reasonably - that does not mean that you can't eat a pizza from time to time
  • Do NOT count calories
  • Eat healthily: replace sugar with honey, eat lots of vegetables (500+ g per day) and fruits
  • Drink a lot of water
  • Eat slowly
