The Benefits Of a cabin Tent

For everyone who has an active lifestyle, camping might be one of those captivating experiences. And while nowadays there are safe camping grounds that anyone can visit and settle in, a sturdy tent is what everyone would need. At present, you have several tent types that you can choose from. For families, the cabin tent are perfect. They are good for both growing and large families. A cabin tent can in fact accommodate up to 10 people.

Looking After Your Cabin Tent

cabin tentYou must remember though that while tents protect us from the outdoors, we must also take care of our tents. Tents were made to withstand different weathers but even those that are the sturdiest must also be taken care of to maintain their good condition. Tents, even those that are made with utmost quality like cabin tents may deteriorate if exposed to harsh weather.

Tents are not 100% water proof and areas that have been sewn in have holes that could let water in. These would soak up the inside of the tent. At the same time, when exposed to too much heat, the outside of the tent will fade in color and can in fact destroy the outside fabric since too much exposure to UV rays can be harmful to your cabin tent.

To protect cabin tents from water, owners can have them sealed at the seams where water might enter. All sides should be waterproof, especially tents without a double skin serving as a rain flap.

Besides the rain, tents can be soaked by being too close to a body of water like the beach or a lake. After a good soak, you must make sure that it is dried completely before storing. Also, make sure that all parts are clean. After use (especially if it was used by the beach), you must clean cabin tents with mild soap (not detergent) and water. Use a sponge to clean the tent cloth and dry completely. Make sure that each part is completely dry (especially the seams or other double sewn-in parts) before storing to prevent the growth of molds and mildew. On the other hand, use a soft dry clean cloth for the poles. Make sure that you take out all the dirt to keep the tent in good condition. You may also clean the zippers by dipping them in water and wiping them clean.

While cabin tents may look big and sturdy, it can still be damaged. One other thing that can bring harm is too much sunlight and heat. That is why you must try - as much as possible - to keep the tent away from direct sunlight. Pitch it underneath a tree or any shade.

You might also want to put a ground cloth underneath the tent to protect it from sharp rocks or wet soil. This will help keep the water out during the rainy season (just make sure the ground cloth is smaller than the tent floor so it would not gather water instead). Also, besides looking out for sharp rocks (sweep the ground first before pitching the tent), refrain from wearing shoes inside the tent.
