BIM, CAD and Quality Control Manager - Digital Gatekeeper

As architects and engineers evolve beyond CAD, the BIM-CAD Manager expands their role as gatekeeper to the company's digital project assets. Their role has evolved to that of a Quality Control Manager. They create, document and maintain the project content standards that produce the contract documents for building projects.

Standards: Design. Graphics. Digital.

National BIM Standard Project Committee
The mission of the National BIM Standard Project Committee as identified in the charter is to improve the performance of facilities over their full life-cycle by fostering a common, standard and integrated life-cycle information model for the A/E/C & FM industry. This information model will allow for the free flow of graphic and non-graphic information among all parties to the process of creating and sustaining the built environment, and will work to coordinate U.S. efforts with related activities taking place internationally.
International Alliance For Interoperability-North America
The Alliance is a global standards-setting organization representing widely diverse constituencies-from architects and engineers, to research scientists, to commercial building owners and contractors, to government officials and academia, to facility managers, and to software companies and building product manufacturers. Alliance members are committed to promoting effective means of exchanging information among all software platforms and applications serving the AEC+FM community by adopting a single Building Information Model (BIM).

This mission is accomplished by defining, promoting and publishing specifications for Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) as BIM and as a basis for AEC project information sharing through the project life cycle, globally, across disciplines and technical applications. IFC BIM are published in the EXPRESS language for software development and in eXtensible Markup Language (ifcXML) for eCommerce and Internet purposes. aecXML derived from the IFC BIM is also promoted and developers are encouraged to extend the IFC BIM through collaboration with IAI.

My current responsibilities include Project Services Manager for one of Autodesk's oldest and largest Revit & ADT Dealerships, Taylor Technologies. My prime focus has been Revit and ADT implementation in various size design firms.

Since joining TTI, my local focus has been the Chicago architectural market. As a member of the TTI Strategic Services Team, I am annually assigned several national projects. I founded and managed CADgrafx, inc. for 15 Years. It was a Wisconsin Autodesk Dealership.

My architectural design firm experience: eight years, three Wisconsin firms (design-bid-build & design-build) working on $500+ million in projects; commercial, medical, financial, government, military.
