I've always been a hard core coffee drinker. I like it bold; I like it straight up. But, every so often I indulge in an order of beignets and there is nothing that complements them better than a steamy, creamy cafe au lait - New Orleans style.
What is New Orleans style cafe au lait you ask? Well, that means it is a bold roast, brewed strong and mixed with chicory then poured half and half with scalded milk. Anything else is an imitation. Just ask a local.
