Tips for a Successful Cafepress Branded Lens

Follow these tips to grow in rankings and make money.

1. Create a lens for each niche in your Cafepress store. A Lens is really easy to setup. If you have a store with designs that include dogs and cats consider making two lenses, one for each topic.


2. Provide visitors meaningful information. People want to learn something. If you have nothing to share but affiliate links no one will talk/buzz or return to your lens.


3. Include your blog feed in the lens. If you have a blog make sure to choose the feature in Squidooto show feeds in your lens. Showing your blog posts will provide meaningful content and more links back to your blog and store.


4. Finish your lens! Make sure you finish each lens you started. Visiting a half completed lens is a turnoff.


5. Promote your products AND affiliate products. Promote your own store in combination with other Cafepress shopkeeper designs. The goal of your lens should be to promote your own store but you still may be able to generate money by including similar designs from Cafepress and provide the visitor more great options.


6. Add a niche news feed. You can insert a news feed from Google News. You can see that I have added a sample Google news feed for turtles.


7. Optimized Titles and Description for your Lens. Add your cool logo, write a description and choose a keyword rich Lens title. Logos are great for branding and having a store description with a personal touch that is keyword rich is great for optimization. For lens title your branded store name is important but relevant keywords are more important. If you sell turtle gifts and your store name is Franky the Turtle then name your lens "Turtle Gifts by Franky the Turtle"


8. Link to your lens. Make sure to link to your lens from your Cafepress store or MySpace profile. It is important to try and get traffic to your Squidoo lens to generate traffic.


9. Set features of your lens to update regularly. Using news or blog feeds that are set to update daily or weekly will keep your lens fresh with content.


10. Realize the potential and have fun! Creating a lens should be fun and it is a great opportunity to increase your store backlinks, generate buzz and hopefully make money for your own pocket or favorite charity.

We have just been using the niche of turtles for the example here but you can go to www.google.com/news and search for your word then click on the rss feed to get your own. Make sure to tell it to update once a day.
