Savvyology - Poetry Gifts

B.Y. Penman writes poetry and creates haiga (visual haiku) under the name Savvyology. The name holds special meaning for her and evolved out of her personal outlook on life and the experiences gained raising a son with multiple complex special needs.

Savvyology:

savvy (n) Practical understanding; cognitive condition of someone who understands.

-ology (suffix) Discourse; expression; theory; study.
 
 

I believe in the economical use of words when expressing myself through poetry. This is why I often make use of the structured haiku format. I also write free verse but strive to maintain a similar sense of simplicity and clarity. By combining my abstract images with my haiku, I create original modern haiga (haiku painting) - poetry for the eyes and ears.
