A TRIBUTE TO OUR TWO BOXER DIESEL DOGS

In Memory Of our two Boxer Diesel Dogs
Champion (Champ) December 6,1996 - December 6,2007 Tiesun June 6,1997 - August 20,2007

This lens is dedicated to our best buddies Champ & Tiesun who both sadly passed on this past year. Our two boxers will be missed more than words can say. We have had some wonderful times together trucking around in our peterbilt. Our Boxers have seen and experienced more on the road with us than most people have in a lifetime. We will share some of our stories with you in hopes that you will get a laugh, maybe even shed a tear and in the end you will have a good idea if having a dog in your truck is a good idea. We will offer some links where you can adopt a dog for yourself, donate to charity and even donate some of your time to transport rescued dogs from one destination to another along your route. We hope you have some fun with this lens, have a laugh,enjoy and if you do, please tell a friend. Please feel free to rate our lens, sign our guest book if you wish tell us some of your stories.

The Good The Bad & The Ugly Side Of Boxers In Trucks

Trucks and Boxers

Sometimes boxers have SEPERATION ANXIETY. Well, at least our Champers sure did. At home champ would chew dry wall, wood, not the furniture though. He was only chewing his way out to find us. That's what I explained to my husband each time he had to fix it. Chewing his way out of anything to find mommy & daddy. He never made it out but almost. Luckily my husband is a jack of all trades and knows how to repair things. So you can imagine if Champ chewed at home he chewed in our truck. Well the first truck we had champ in was a fixer upper anyways. That was my reasoning. Champ chewed the leather button tuck above the driver seat. The driver was not impressed. Now don't get me wrong we never leave Champers for very long. As you know when you are an owner/operator you don't stay anywhere to long unless its waiting at a customers door to offload or reload. Or, you are waiting on a load god help you. So if we were stuck somewhere Champ was always walking. Maybe thats where we went wrong, to much spoiling. So the longest he was ever alone would be 45 minutes to an hour, just enough time to eat, check on Champ and go back for a quick shower and again back to Champ. The truck must be running for air in the hot climate and heat in the cool climate. Thus burning fuel which you have to be prepared for. Our Champ not only chewed the ceiling he chewed the window latch on the draft window and one of the slide windows in the bunk. This was the most embarassing time because a nice lady came in to get us while we were eating our breakfast in the J to advise us that our dog wanted out. Champ was ok and I didn't kill him. We ended up having a wonderful BBQ with our new flatbed friends. What a great time. Champ of course got a treat. And this story also explains why we decided to adopt our baby girl boxer dog Tiesun. Adoptin any dog is a great way to show you care.
