There are thousands of birthday cake ideas that you can use to create your very own birthday cakes.  Now you can create cakes that look professional even though they are homemade cakes.  I'm going to list below several different cake decorating ideas that you can use to make your next birthday party a hit!

Character cakes are cakes based on popular characters for television, movies, and books.  Some of the most popular characters are Disney characters, Harry Potter, comic book characters like Spiderman, Superman, and Batman.  Also you'll find that characters from popular games like Super Mario Brothers and World Of Warcraft. 

 

Animated Cakes 

 

Animated cakes are cakes that actually move!  Imagine how thrilled your young child will be to see that the top of his cake is actually alive with motion.

 

Theme Cakes

 

Theme cakes are cake with a theme such as popular birthdays like Sweet 16, 21st birthday, 30th birthday, or 50th birthday.  Other themes are beach and pool parties, casino, hollywood, NASCAR, spiritual, or seasonal.
