California State Employee Layoffs. How Can the State Employee Potentially Insulate Their Income?

The California State Employee has been asked, or forced, to take a 15% pay cut and is still threatened, and facing, potentially a layoff in coming weeks.
The administration of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger mentioned that the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation would lose the most California State Employee jobs.

I've been layed off twice in my adult working career. Both times my income was wiped out but my bills kept coming. I knew I had to make a change.

And I have never looked back!

California State Employee: Isn't it Time to Protect Yourself and Your Family from Financial Ruin?

The California State Employee...

...needs to financially protect themselves from the 3 days a month furlough, or worse, being layed off due to the increasing budget issues of the state. The financial hardship stories are just starting to emerge as the squeeze in their monthly income is starting to be felt. I recently read a story about a California state employee who had to move from her home because she could no longer afford the payments. Her dream of home ownership...gone. A 15% reduction in pay is substantial and there will be more financial hardship stories emerging with the prolonged furlough.

I UNDERSTAND...

About 2 years ago I was laid off from a high paying salaried position at a very large company. At the time I was devastated, confused, angry, and scared. I felt I was a good employee, earning a good salary, and I was looking forward to a long career with this company. But I guess I was living in a fantasy world. I quickly realized that I wasn't a person but a number. A51053. That was my number. That was the number that HR always asked me for, as did my computer, when I logged on.

Sound familiar? This was the second time I had been laid off in my adult working career. Career?

The security of working for a large company(65,000 employee's)...gone! All a fallacy.

Although I was angry at the company I was more angry at myself for letting this happen, again, and for being unprepared. I vowed never to let that happen. I knew I had to do something.

I vowed that I would not become another number that could be laid off or asked to take a paycut. And If that did happen I would be prepared.

I started talking with friends of mine who never seemed to have any financial concerns. Both are multi-millionaires and doing very well. Never seemed to have the same financial concerns as me. So what was going on?

WHAT WERE THEY DOING THAT I WAS NOT?

Why was I stressed over finances and they didn't seem to have a care in the world?

While I was choosing which debt to pay, with my limited funds at the end of the month, they were debt free!

What they both told me startled me. It stopped me cold. I didn't think it was possible and that they must be lucky. So what was their secret?

They both shared with me what they did. Both with different businesses. Both had earned significant money in a relatively short amount of time and now they wanted to share with me how they did it.

They have mentored me and have taught me the lessons they have learned, shared the mistakes they made, and now I am starting to teach others the same.

I WAS TAUGHT LIFE CHANGING LESSONS

California State Employee Furloughs... and a Strike?

How Will the Ca. State Employee Manage their Finances During a Prolonged Strike?

The California State employees union, Service Employees International Union Local 1000, which represents some 95,000 unionized employees, recently announced that 74% of the members approved a strike authorization. At this time the strike is not imminent but in coming weeks their board will meet to decide on the next step. The California state employee is currently furloughed 3 days a month. This represents a 15% reduction in pay and now there is talk of a possible strike. How will you manage your finances if this occurs? Is this the time to insulate yourself from possible financial catastrophe with a home based business?

A prolonged strike will be a catastrophic blow to an already "too much month for the paycheck" syndrome. You have already cut your expenses to the bare minimum during the furlough. Every nickel and dime is accounted for in monthly expenses.

What will the strike do to your "razor-thin" finances?

More and more people are looking for alternatives and many of them are turning to
home based businesses to help with their finances. Recently, an article in USA Today titled, "Direct Sales(like Avon & MaryKay) offer recession-proof jobs", a recently layed-off construction worker was interviewed for the story. Here is an excerpt:

"While he searched for another job, Lapp began working alongside his wife, Lynne, in a business based in their Temecula home, selling nutritional supplements made by a direct-sales company. Nearly two years later and with no construction job in sight, Lapp says a one-time sideline has become the couple's bread and butter". "It's paying our mortgage, our car payments, putting food on the table," says Lapp, 55, who adds that he and his wife are earning a six-figure income. "It was our 'Plan B' that turned into our 'Plan A.' "

What is Your Plan B?

Working from home doesn't have to take a lot of your time. Working with the right team with the right product is vitally important to your success.

How much longer will you wait? Can you wait? Is this the time to insulate yourself and your family from financial devastation?

Over 70,000 union members voted to strike. Are you one of the yes votes or are you one of the 25,000 who voted no? Is now the time to strike? Or is it time to start a home based business?
