Interview Tips for Call Center Jobs

Many interviews especially ones for Team Manager and Trainer jobs are competency based, this means you are asked a number of questions asking for examples such as:

"give me an example of something your proud of"

Set about thinking of about 6 things you have done well and are very proud off and a couple of things they think you tried, but it didn't go well and what you learnt from it, keep a list at home and update it with other examples as and when they come about, this will be for your reference in the future before you have an interview. It is important to keep a list to ensure you can refresh your memory before an interview. You want to know why you did something, how you did it, and the result and always answer your questions in this way also! General Example:

"I was given the task to manage a new team of 8 agents, the teams conversion was quite low when I first joined the company at 19%, I undertook more coaching based around objection handling which was a specific area of weakness and side by side coaching, II did this to ensure feedback was timely to maximise the benefits, the result was I was able to increase conversion by 3% and we are now the top team"

Another pointer, take a pen and paper into the interview with you (seek permission first) and jot down the main points about a question you are being asked, use it to refer back to if you feel you are going off at a tangent with your answer, also use it to jot down the answers to any questions you may ask.

Good luck.
