Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Unlike previous Call of Duty games where you take the reins of three soldiers from different allied countries, in Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare the game is played through as either Soap MacTavish a member of Britains Elite 22 SAS Regiment or Paul Jackson a member of Americas United States Marine Corps 1st Force Recon unit.

The game focuses on playing as an infantry soldier in Russia and the middle east and has been created to flow in the style of a film plot meaning the player gets to enjoy both heavy firefights and slower settings that instil suspense.

The new Modern Warfare version of Call of Duty also showcases some of the most hi tech weaponry available today like the portable anti tank missile launcher FGM-148 Javelin.

The more you play Call of duty:Modern Warfare and work your way through the levels gaining higher ranks, the more weapons that are unlocked for use on multiplayer gaming.

As mentioned previously, Call of Duty 4 is in a story format where you play as Soap MacTavish a member of Britains Elite 22 SAS Regiment. Soap MacTavish is working with other SAS operatives to catch the son of a renowned Russian ultranationalist by the name of Imran Zakhaev who is trying to sieze nuclear weapons from the Russian government.

During this same time Paul Jackson a member of Americas United States Marine Corps 1st Force Recon unit is in the Middle East. Imran Zakhaev has supplied funds for a coup in the middle east so the attention of America and Britain are taken away from what he is doing in Russia. This coup is being lead by Zakhaev's ally Khaled Al-Asad.

The governments of Britain and America find out what Zakhaev and his allys are doing through their intelligence agencies. Not long after this a Russian nuclear weapon is used by Khaled Al-Asad which kills a huge number of American Marines.

Without giving too much of the story away their are more characters who make up the story line further...one of which is a British SAS Captain by the name of Price who has been in the SAS for many years and during a flash back you play as 15 years in the past in the Ukraine.

Like previous Call of Duty titles players can also join in online gaming communities and enjoy playing against other people from across the globe.

The best forms of online gaming are through Xbox live and PC gaming.

There are many multiplayer game modes to keep many people interested, some of these come in the form of...

* Free for all - Every man for himself (last man standing)

* Team death match - work as a team to kill all players on the opposing team

* Team objective - work as a team to achieve one common objective

* Search and destroy - one team is set as the attackers, this team has to plant a bomb at a designated area of the defenders garrison

* Ground war - total all out warfare with huge teams
