Call of Duty: Black Ops - Treyarch Delivers Denied Ops During Cold War Era

3 Kills - Spy Plane: Shows enemies on the mini-map. Can be shot down
3 Kills - RC-XD Explosive RC Car: Remote controlled car strapped with explosives
4 Kills - Counter Spy Plane: Temporarily disables enemies mini-map
4 Kills - SAM Turret: Airdrop a placeable SAM turret that destroys aircraft

One of the things that keeps so many people coming back to games in the ultra-successful Call of Duty franchise is the guns. Black Ops is no exception to the rule.

The first zombies map in Call of Duty: Black Ops is Kino Der Toten (Theater of the Dead). It starts off much like Nacht der Untoten, the first map in Nazi Zombies, but Treyarch has definitely added a few new touches to this version. This guide should help you survive the oncoming zombie hordes, while racking up points to buy weapons and unlock doors.

Just like in Nazi Zombies, you will want to have a partner to watch your back. In Kino Der Toten, you start off with a pistol and a machete. The first wave of zombies fall easily with one good knife swing. Try using combinations of knifing and pistol shots (they take a couple usually) to bring up your score. You'll need it in the rounds to come! Patch up holes, or breaches, created by the zombies as they break into the building you are in. At the end of the round, reload, catch your breath, and plan your strategy for the next round.

You have the option to either buy a shotgun or a rifle in your first few rounds for 500 points. Grab the Olympia (double barrel shotgun) if you think you'll be able to reload fast enough. The shotgun is very useful for decimating your zombie opponents as close range, if needs be. You can usually take out 2 zombies with one well placed shot. Keep up with breaches and keep your guns loaded and ready.

Open the upstairs door to the right by the 4th round. The 5th round is hellhound time. If you are not used to these from the map pack updates from Nazi Zombies, hellhounds are pretty much what they sound like...reanimated dogs that are engulfed in flames and run at you pretty quickly. Put these dogs down Old Yeller style and move on to the next round. Get ready for the new zombies.

The viral site for this new zombies version, GKNOVA6.com, gave us a view into the new breed of undead enemies Treyarch would unleash in Black Ops. "Gassers," "Crawlers," or "Nova Zombies" are experiments gone horribly wrong. These creatures race across the floor on all fours towards you. When shot with regular bullets, these zombies spew deadly Nova gas from their wounds, damaging players who get too close. Either knife these menaces or use the ray gun, if you can get your hands on one.

Stay focused, stick to your gameplan, and keep unlocking doors and upgrading guns often and hopefully you will make it through the barrage of undead monsters. Chances are, you won't though....

Suit up and ship out to Vietnam, Siberia, and Cuba. Survive these denied ops by being more cunning than the enemy...and of course having superior firepower.

Denied "Black" Ops are covert, smaller-scale military campaigns. They call them "denied" for a reason - these are operations that countries can't back. If there is an assasination to be made or a target to be hit that the world could not know about, the military sends in Special Forces teams to handle it. Soldiers who fail at these missions and get captured cannot usually be rescued due to tense political climates, like the one during the Cold War. If you get caught, your whole existance is denied, so that eliminates the option of getting caught.
