Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2 Tips, Strategy and Walkthrough Guide

Infinity Ward CCO Jason West stated that Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2 would not be longer than the 6-10 hour-long campaign of Call of Duty 4 and he was right. I finished the single player game in 9 hours
.and moved on to Special Ops. Mission settings in the hot first person shooter video game so popular with hardcore gamers and include battles in the streets of Rio de Janeiro's favela, the ice-capped mountains of Kazakhstan, the dusty roads of Afghanistan, and other unexpected locales in Russia. A video game trailer released on the official Infinity Ward YouTube page teased a scene with fighting at the United States Capital in Washington, D.C. and the storyline for Modern Warfare 2 has caused massive controversy in America.

According to Wikipedia.org, Modern Warfare 2 is set five years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4. Despite the efforts of the United States Marines and the British SAS, the Ultranationalists seize control of Russia and declare Zakhaev a hero and a martyr. At the same time
the villainous Vladimir Makarov, a former lieutenants of Zakhaev's, begins a reign of terror in parts of Europe by staging numerous terror attacks iin cities.

Modern Warfare II tips begin in Afghanistan, where the U.S. Army Ranger Private Joseph Allen helps take an Afghan city from an army of militants. Impressed, General Shepherd recruits Allen as a CIA operative and places him in Makarov's organization as an undercover agent. Meanwhile, Soap and Roach infiltrate a Russian airbase to recover a lost ACS module from a downed satellite. Shepherd then sends Allen on an undercover mission in Russia in order to get close to Makarov. Allen joins Makarov in a brutal massacre of unarmed civilians waiting in a terminal at Zakhaev International Airport (formerly Sheremetyevo International Airport) in Moscow. Makarov, however, is apparently wise to the fact that Allen is undercover. He kills Allen, exposes his identity as an American, and turns him into a scapegoat for the brutal terrorist attack.

Angered by what they believe is an American-supported terrorist attack, Russia stages a massive surprise invasion of the United States. It turns out that the ACS module recovered earlier by Task Force 141 has already been cracked, which allows the Russian forces to advance without alerting the U.S. until they are very close. Private Ramirez and his squad of U.S. Army Rangers, led by Sergeant Foley, are called upon to defend a Virginia suburb from the Russian attack. They then proceed towards a war torn Washington, D.C. where more U.S. forces are fighting a desperate battle against the Russians for control of the city. Meanwhile, Task Force 141 work on tracking down Makarov. Intelligence from the airport attacks lead them to Rio de Janeiro to investigate leads on Makarov's contacts, but the only intelligence they learn from the operation is that the most hated enemy of Makarov is locked up in a Russian gulag. As a result, Soap decides to rescue the prisoner from the gulag to use him as a bait to draw Makarov out. With assistance from the Navy SEALS and U.S. Marines, Task Force 141 manages to free the prisoner, who is revealed to be Captain Price. Price agrees to help them track down Makarov, but knows they must go to extremes to end the war. He decides to go rogue, hijack a Russian nuclear submarine, and launch an ICBM towards Washington, D.C. However, he rigs the warhead to explode in the upper atmosphere, which destroys the International Space Station (viewed from an astronaut's point of view), but spares Washington. The resulting electromagnetic pulse cripples the vehicles and electronic equipment of both the U.S. and Russian forces in the city. Later, Ramirez and his squad discover that the Air Force has assumed that D.C. has been lost after the nuclear explosion and plans to carpet bomb the city. The only way to abort the operation is to set off green flares on the roof of the White House, which is under Russian control. Ramirez and his squad fight their way to the roof the building and manage to set off their flares in the nick of time, while green flares on the roofs of other D.C. landmarks signifies that the city remains firmly in American hands.

Narrowing down Makarov's hiding place to two separate locations, Task Force 141 decides to split up. Price and Soap go to the aircraft boneyards in Afghanistan, while Roach and Ghost raid Makarov's safehouse in the Caucasus Mountains. The latter obtain vital intelligence that implicates Makarov in the massacre at Zakhaev International Airport. However, General Shepherd betrays them and kills both Ghost and Roach. It is revealed that Shepherd intends to take advantage of the global crisis to turn himself into a global hero. Price and Soap quickly learn of Roach and Ghost's death and manage to escape Shepherd's ambush, with the help of Nikolai. After learning the location of Shepherd's secret base in Afghanistan from Makarov, they decide to take revenge on him in one final, bloody suicide mission. However, during the infiltration, Shepherd tries to escape and a long boat pursuit ensues.

Shepherd appears to escape when he drives his boat into the back of a hovering MH-53 helicopter. However, Price manages to shoot down the helicopter just before their boat tumbles over a waterfall. After recovering from the fall, an injured Soap staggers after Shepherd and attempts to kill him with his knife, but Shepard blocks the attack and stabs Soap with his own knife. As Soap lays on the ground, Shepard pulls out his pistol and prepares to execute Soap, but before he can, Price attacks him and knocks the pistol away. Price and Shepard then engage in an extended fist fight. Soap meanwhile, attempts to crawl towards Shepard's pistol, but Shepard kicks it away before he can grab it. Soap then pulls the knife out of his own chest and throws it at Shepherd, striking him in the eye and killing him. Price attends to Soap's wound before Nikolai arrives in a helicopter to extract them. Price warns Nikolai that they will be international fugitives for what they've done and agree that they should go into hiding.

The MW2 storylne has many comparisons to the 1984 hit movie, Red Dawn which features an invasion of American soil by Russian and Cuban troops and the ensuing battle for America which takes place. in Red Dawn a group of American teenagers fight back and take part in the American insurgency against the invading troops. There are a number of references to Red Dawn in the Modern Warfare 2 video game with matches such as Wolverines specifically mentioning themes and characters from the movie.

The controversy surrounding the US Invasion scenes in this game are overshadowed by the extreme graphics and bloodshed in the Russian Airport scenes where the game characters slaughter innocent civilians to start the war against America.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Gameplay Tips

NPCs carry customized tactical weaponry including AK-47s, SCAR and ACR assault weapons, sniper rifles, light machine guns, sub machine guns and various launcers which can be carried with one or more attachments including sweet goodies like the Grenade Launcher, ACOG Scope, FMJ bullets and Thermal Vision. A new melee stance has been introduced which involves holding a handgun and the combat knife in the extended tactical knife position which allows for faster knife attacks and better stealth mode. Throwing knives are now usable in multiplayer mode in place of grenades along with stun and smoke grenades for different uses.
Using the same weapon and unlocking add ons increases the power and performance of each weapon and allows for increased edge in game play. Master any weapon and receive points boosts as well as attachments like Extended Mags and earn new Titles for each weapon mastered.

Multiplayer Game Types Description:
Team Deathmatch - Use teamwork via in game chat to kill enemy players and reach the score limit first
Free-For-All - No Teams, every player for himself. Kill every player you see!
Domination -Enemy flags need to be captured and defended. Hold the designated positions to gain points.
Ground War - Rotating game modes (Team Deathmatch, Domination, ...) with a 18 player limit (on consoles) instead of 12.
Sabotage - 1 Bomb in the center of the map. Grab it and destroy the enemy objective.
Headquarters Pro - Capture the headquarters and defend it from the enemy.
Search and Destroy - Two teams take turns in defending and destroying an objective. Offense will carry a bomb that needs to be planted on either one of the two plant-sights defended by the other teams. On half time teams switch, defense will be offense.
Capture the Flag - Capture the enemies flag and return it to your teams base to score points.
Demolition - Defend and destroy two objectives.

Here are some simple strategies to follow in the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 2.

General tips for new MW2 players:

1. You can't hurt your teammates in regular game play and you can actually shoot through them to assist. Blast anything that moves!!
2. If you're having trouble ask for help on the in game chat and improve your team play by asking questions and making friends.
3. Use every available attachment and piece of equipment including secondary weapons and grenades which will be replaced when you die.
4. Play slow and avoid charging into a situation. The element of surprise is your friend and slow and low is the tempo.
5. Keep practicing and play often! Dying doesn't penalize you as much as you think so try everything and you'll find what works for you.

Things to keep in mind when playing MW2

-- Sticking a Semtex grenade to a character holding a riot shield is the best take them out from the front without having to flank them.
-- Using a flash or stun grenade against players using a riot shields is very effective causing them lower their shields for a moment and opening them up for an attack but be careful not to flash yourself and lose the opportunity.
-- Aim for the chest or neck region on burst fire assault rifles. For full auto assault rifles, do the same but fire in groups of three to five rounds. Doing this will make the muzzle climb for recoil and give you a second or third round headshot.
-- Thermal scopes work great with smoke grenades - enemies show up right through the smoke unless they have the cold blooded perk but you sacrifice a limited view window and it can be difficult to see enemies in the snow.
-- Shoot down a Pavelow helicopter faster by not locking on with the AT-4 (anti-tank weapon); shooting from the hip prevents the Pavelow from using countermeasures.
-- If you're not a pro shooter, try playing a support role. In Domination, you could play a runner class, and constantly harass the enemy team by infiltrating their rear field and taking objective points. In this way, you could be one of the most valuable players on the team without doing much killing at all.
-- Equip a Stinger as your secondary weapon and watch for enemy aircraft. Your stinger missiles can lock on to them and quickly destroy them. You can even take down enemy UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) this way.

Have a Camp Out
Modern Warfare 2 does not reward players that rush out into the open. In fact, your main objective during your first few levels will be to seek out these people, and kill them.

Finding a hiding spot in Modern Warfare 2 is a relative proposition. If you can find a spot which has a good view of the enemy, but where the enemy will be more likely to concentrate on looking a different direction, stay in that spot until it's obvious to the other players that you're mowing them down.

Good examples of these hiding spots:
1. Perpendicular to a building's window. Typically, the enemy players will be making their way through the building, especially on the ground floor.
2. The most common hiding spots in Modern Warfare 2 are second floor walkways or windows. Honestly, most of these spots suck, but even a bad spot has a couple of advantages. First, you're likely to get out of combat if you need a break to recover from being shot. Second, if you can find a window or ledge that has a good view of either an alley or a "town square" that the enemy has to pass through, that'll make a decent spot until someone decides to take you out.

If you're doing well, you'll get "Kill Streaks" - rewards for killing X people in a row, which you can deploy by pressing over on the D pad (different on PC).

Here's a list of the Kill Streak rewards you can use. Many of these remain locked until you reach a certain level:
3 Kills - UAV: Sends a UAV to scan the area and locate enemies on the minimap.
4 Kills - Care Package: Call in a package drop by throwing smoke to wherever you want the package to drop. It contains either a random killstreak or ammo and can be used by the other team.
4 Kills - Counter UAV: Blocks enemy UAV
5 Kills - Sentry Gun: Airdrop a sentry gun that fires at enemies.
5 Kills - Predator Missile: Calls in a remote control missile via a laptop which you can guide to kill enemies. You are defenseless while using the missile.
6 Kills - Precision Airstrike: Calls in an airstrike which you can control the direction where it comes from.
7 Kills - Attack Helicopter: Call in an attack helicopter that hovers around and kills enemies.
7 Kills - Harrier Strike: Hovering plane which can attack enemies.
8 Kills - Emergency Airdrop: Call in a supply drop.
9 Kills - Pave Low: Calls in a heavily armored helicopter to kill enemies.
9 Kills - Stealth Bomber: Massive amounts of bombs dropped on your enemies.
11 Kills - Chopper Gunner: Lay waste to enemies as a chopper gunner.
11 Kills - AC-130: You get to be the gunner of an AC-130 gunship via laptop and rain hell upon your enemies. You are defenseless while using the AC-130.
15 Kills - EMP. Enemies can't use any electronic perk. Basically kills all other perks.
25 Kills - Nuke. No, not the Robocop drug... A tactical NUKE. Obliterates enemies.

Your kill streak unlocks stay with you when you die. If your team has already deployed a UAV, keep your UAV Kill Streak reward until it's needed. Don't use a Patriot Missle (or AC130) when you're exposed - get to the back of the map and crouch or lay down. When you're sure you can deploy safely, do so.

Modern Warfare 2 will award players based on their performance in multiplayer games. After the action report, everyone's accolades will be displayed on screen.

As you create your class in MW2 you'll want to know what Perks work best for your style of ga Scavenger for unlimited ammo refills including up to 3 active Claymore mines for a great defensive perimeter. Cold-Blooded is the best for perk slot 2, as you're unnoticed by UAV, air support, sentry guns and thermal scopes. Finally, in perk slot 3, we prefer Ninja, which makes you invisble to heartbat sensors. If you use a silencer on your weapon with this combo you are all but invisible to everyone and everything. People will actually step on you and never realize you are sitting right next to them before you kill them. The one drawback is Killcam will expose your location unless you are playing in Hardcore where there is no Killcam.

Another plus to Modern Warfare 2 is being able to upgrade these perks to Pro. You'll need to complete the separate challenge for each perk to receive these abilities, but it's certainly worth it. What's cool about these pro perks is they work alongside your previously working perks, rather than replacing them. So, for instance, Sleight of Hand gives you faster reloading. With pro, you have accelerated aiming, so you don't take so long pointing your sights on an enemy. Pro level perks increase your edge in game play so stick with one perk long enough to master it and go pro.
