Calla Lily Wedding Color Scheme
So many beautiful combinations and shades to choose from!
Calla lilies are perennial rhizomes that feature a funnel flower with a central finger-like spadix at the end of a tall green stem. There are countless varieties of calla lilies which means they are available in a wide range of colors. Colors ranging from classic white to pale pink to dark purple (almost black) make the calla lily an excellent choice for any season of the year. The orange flame and yellow calla lilies look great either alone or grouped in a bouquet with other flowers for fall weddings. For winter weddings, how about using red to burgundy colored calla lilies or pair them with red roses to create an unforgettable bridal bouquet. Of course, classic white and ivory calla lilies are a wedding staple no matter what the season. And the wide range of pastel colors such as lavender, pink and corals are great alone or combines with showy flowers such as peonies for spring and summer weddings.

Above are several examples of some spectacular wedding cakes that utilize the wide calla lily color palette from creamy yellow to purple to pure white. Most of the great Calla lily cakes that I found online utilize fondant rather than butter-cream to create the outer icing and beatiful calla lily design. The great thing about fondant is that it holds up well in summer heat (compared to butter cream anyway).
