Digital Camera Photography

Digital photography is awesome. What a change has taken place over the last 30 years in the area of photography. The black and white age of the 60's, 70's and 80's to the digital camera age. What a joy it is for the average person to take pictures so clear that you can't tell the difference if the photographer is a novice or a professional. It is amazing the colors produced by the increase of megapixels in today's digital cameras. Most digital camera owners don't realize the potential of their camera. You can do some awesome things with these cameras and built-in functionality. The average digital camera owner should pick their favorite photo and submit it to a photo development company for a blowup. They would be amazed because I was! I took the photo of the bench with flowers and the walkway in the background, with my digital camera. For me the scene represents peace. www.myonlineelectronicsmediastore.com

Digital Camera-Photography Experience

I first began taking pictures with my 1965 model Polaroid camera. I could not adjust for brightness, sharpness, or motion. I could only take 10 pictures or less and the camera didn't provide for a negative. Along came the 35mm camera. During my military tour in Germany my brother in-law surprised me with a gift. The gift was a 35mm camera which included a nice lens and carrying case.

I didn't use the camera for a few years until I met a good friend of mine who was in the military. My friend invited me to his home one day and I noticed these beautiful photographs on the hallway wall. One of the pictures was a beautiful sunset over the downtown marina in my town. One of the other pictures was a red, full of shiny chrome, 1957 Chevrolet. I asked him about the pictures and he explained that he took the photographs with a 35mm camera. He became interested in photography and took a couple of junior college courses in photography. The photographs displayed on his walls were awesome. He actually presented me with an enlarged framed photograph of the 1957 Chevrolet. I wanted to take beautiful photographs like his.

I dug my camera out of storage and pulled out the instruction booklet. I read the booklet and learned how to operate the camera. I asked more experienced photographers as many questions as possible to learn as much as I could. I began taking some good quality photographs of everything. My favorite pictures were of beautiful flowers. I was amazed at the vibrant colors of the flowers and the clarity in the photos. I even began enlarging and framing the photographs which later adorned my walls.

I purchased a 5 megapixel digital camera. I was so happy and excited that I was bursting with anticipation. The camera provided the point and shoot ability, seeing what I am photographing through the LCD window and the different options available (e.g., flowers, motion, video with sound, close-ups etc.). The prospect of what I could do with the camera was unbelievable. One of my favorite photographs was shot at our city marina at mid-day. The water was so calm and the reflection of the boats on the water was crystal clear. The snow capped mountains and the blue sky was the background of my photo. I took the shot with my automatic digital camera. I didn't have to make any adjustments, which I loved. Later that evening I uploaded the picture to my computer and it was breathtaking. I then uploaded the image to an online picture processing company and requested a 2 foot by 2 foot blowup of the picture. I received the picture in the mail and held my breath while I peeled the wrapper off. I was pleasantly surprised at how the picture looked. It was beautiful. I purchased a frame for the picture and hung it on my home office wall. I was a novice but I felt like a professional.

A digital camera is a must in this day and age if you enjoy photography. It provides me with an enormous amount of happiness and satisfaction. I like everything about digital cameras especially not having to purchase film, and the ease of operation. I can't wait until I purchase my next camera.

Digital cameras can do things film cameras cannot: displaying images on a screen immediately after they are recorded, storing thousands of images on a single small memory device, recording video with sound, and deleting images to free storage space. Some can crop pictures and perform other elementary image editing. Fundamentally they operate in the same manner as film cameras, typically using a lens with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto an image pickup device. The combination of the diaphragm and a shutter mechanism is used to admit the correct amount of light to the imager, just as with film; the only difference is that the image pickup device is electronic rather than chemical.
