Camerons Stovetop Smoker Recipe Smoked Pork Tenderloin
Welcome to the first stop of my journey into the Camerons Stovetop Smoker, and first up is a 4lb pack of bone-in Pork Tenderloin. I chose this meat simply because it is tasty and being on sale always helps. Well I decided to make each Camerons Stovetop Smoker recipe super easy to read and follow, join me on my first Smoked pork adventure!
Just as a quick side note I am making this lens with the help of my daughter Abby who is going to be helping me cook, document and publish these lenses as a summer project with her dad. Getting ready for the Camerons Indoor Smoker Treatment
The night before I prepared the pork with a simple technique called "Brining". This is the art of soaking the meat before cooking, and what I used was the following:
- 1/2 gal water
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/3 cup kosher salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbs Garlic chunks from jar
- 1 Small onion chopped up
I then placed that over the pork in a bowl, and then placed the bowl in the fridge for 12 hours. The next morning I drained 80% of the liquid and placed the remaining liquid and pork in a zip lock bag until I was ready to smoke it.

Selecting The Right Wood For Smoking Pork Tenderloin

Now the Camerons Stovetop Smoker came with two types of wood, but I also ordered a multi-pack of Camerons wood chips so I would have variety at home. I did some reading and we were looking for a "classic" smoked BBQ taste, so we went with the Camerons Hickory chips.

Adding Hickory To Smoker
Once you have decided the flavor to smoke the meat then it is time to add it to your Camerons Stovetop Smoker. Now the manufacturer recommends that you use 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of wood chips. I read that you should use a little bit more so I used 2 tablespoons of the Hickory wood chips.
Prepared Smoker For Cooking

Look I am a guy so when I read that if you add foil to the bottom of the drip tray it makes for an easy clean up I am doing it. So if you want just line the drip tray with a sheet of foil, and if you do the cleanup is SO much easier.
Putting Pork On Camerons Stovetop Smoker
Now that the smoker is ready for you to add the meat just layer it on. I used 4 pounds because I have a big family. If you were wondering about how big it is let me assure you that it handled 4 pounds of pork! There is nothing fancy about it, just get it on there.

Put Smoker on Stove
Up until this point it has been so easy that a guy and a 7 year old can do it, but here comes the tricky part (I hope you feel my sarcasm). You slide the lid on the Camerons Stovetop Smoker leaving only about 1/4 of an inch open at the end. Turn the stovetop burner to MEDIUM heat and wait. After about 2 minutes or so you will see a small wisp of smoke come out of the opening you left. Once you see the smoke close the lid and start you cooking timer. Pork like this takes only 30/min for two pounds. I used 4 pounds so I set my timer for 1 hour, crossed my fingers and waited.
