About Us
Camp Quality is a volunteer run and community funded non-profit, 501 (C) (3) organization that provides free camping experiences and year-round support programs for children with cancer, and their families. Camp Quality New Jersey's programs are focused to care for the emotional needs of children with cancer and their families. As they face the "challenging days" and celebrate the good ones, a support network of peers provides tremendous strength and hope.
Our featured program, our annual overnight camp is held for one-week during the summer, with additional support programs continuing throughout the year such as reunions and family outings.
We are about making a difference in a child's life.
The name Camp Quality refers to how we support Kids with Cancer and that "No one can do anything about the quantity of one's life, but all of us can do something about the quality."
How do we do it?
The companion to camper program. Each camper is paired with an adult companion (18 years or older) who spends the entire week at camp by his/her camper's side. The companion is the camper's friend, cheerleader, and mentor even beyond camp. With year-round reunions, special events, and though informal contact, companions, campers, and their families come together to share and support one another.
By creating stress-free environments that offer exciting activities, foster new friendships, and help give children courage, motivation, and emotional strength.
The overnight campground is an ideal venue to bring our campers and companions together to share fun and exciting experiences where campers have the opportunity to build relationships, self confidence, and memories to sustain them in the years ahead.
Unlike other camping programs, each of our fun activities at camp are carefully selected to ensure that the activity encourages interaction with other campers and companions, and/or offers a high impact lasting memory.

Report on Summer Camp 2009
The Camp Quality New Jersey Flagship last year was our annual overnight summer camp held in June in Blairstown, NJ. While we always say that this was the best ever, in fact this years camp was the best ever!Despite a last minute fall-off in many of the kids not being able to come to camp because of flu symptoms, 42 campers attended and were supported by 50 volunteer/companions, a volunteer staff of 16, and 6 doctors and nurses, for a total 114 attendees at camp.
Our week long Camp for kids with cancer was kicked off with a Bon Voyage party hosted by CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ. The Bon Voyage Party gave the Campers and their families an opportunity to get to know their companions and the Camp Quality staff before they boarded buses to the camp ground.
The theme for this year's camp was "Passport to Fun". Each day was celebrated with fun events that emphasized relationship and emotional strength building, with gentle encouragement by the companions to have the kids leave their comfort zone. They included; a Hot Air Balloon ride, zip lines, giant swings, repelling towers, a professional ventriloquist, water slides, a pie throwing event, a fishing derby, outdoor games, canoeing, a talent show, a DJ dance, a juggling event, and a Beat the clock game show.
All activities at camp were either supported by performers who donated their time or they were paid for by generous donations from our "Friends of Camp Quality".

- Each child is matched with a volunteer companion aged 18 or older for the entire week. Companions are an important part of the camp's success. With individualized attention, children are well cared for while they are away from family members. Each companion goes through a strict training and meets stringent criteria before being matched. Special care is given to match the camper with a companion to ensure that the companion is emotionally capable of attending to the needs of the camper and that the camper benefits from the experience and relationship that will carry throughout the year, beyond the one week camping experience
