I love Camping Equipment
When I look for camping equipment I'm looking for cool stuff that's useful when I go camping and make things easier for me.
I often ask myself, "What camping equipment can I get this time for the next camping trip?" Preparing camping equipment for a camping trip is fun and exciting especially hiking camping trips because the choice of camping equipment is more critical but when I shop around I'm almost looking for stuff I can play with during my camping.
I don't usually look specifically for camping equipment, sometimes I end up buying general outdoor equipment like the cool solar powered battery charger or the winding phone charger which also ends up useful for camping.

Camping Tent
One of the coolest camping equipment I got is a camping tent called the Turbo Tent. It sets up very fast and don't require you hammer down stakes and figure out where the poles go.
The least I want to be worried about on a camping trip is setting up the camping tent. I've had horrible experiences setting up camping tents before.
The first time I set up a camping tent was when I was a student. It was just a canvas tent that we had to make do with because we didn't have a lot of money to buy a proper tent. The result was usually disastrous.
When I did have the money to get a proper tent, neither did things always turn out perfectly. The camping tent I got was not really that easy to set up and a manual is always needed. You can see now why I got the Turbo Tent.

Backpack
Another camping equipment that I find that's worth every penny is my Northface backpack. I had never thought that the right backpack can actually make your load feel lighter.
It has to do with the weight distribution system. Suddenly your shoulders don't need to take the entire load. The easy access pockets are a welcomed added bonus.
Keeping your load light is important especially if you are hiking camping, rock climbing or mountain climbing/trekking so it's also important to have lightweight camping equipment. You can save some weight from your sleeping bag.

Sleeping Bag
Although cheap sleeping bags can be light, they don't do you any good when it comes to protecting you from the cold at night when you sleep. Some are reasonably good at keeping you warm at night but tend to be both bulky and heavy.
The best sleeping bags are both light, warm and keep you dry. They're a little expensive it's one of those camping equipment that wonder how you had survived without one.

Trekking Poles and the Army Swiss Knife
If you're hiking camping I recommend that you also get a walking stick or trekking, whatever it takes. It really helps you walk faster and more efficiently.
It also helps to keep your balance after a long walk and when you go down steep hills. Other uses include fending off wild animals and using it as a pole for your camping tent.
If you feel that professional walking sticks are a waste of money, get a normal stick but remember to also bring along a Swiss Army knife (the one with a mini saw) just in case it breaks.
A Swiss Army knife with a saw I think is something you should never go hiking camping without. A normal penknife just doesn't do a good job of cutting through wood for your walking stick or to fuel the fire.

Hiking Boots and Other Camping Equipment
I also recommend that you get proper hiking boots for your hiking camping trip. Good hiking boots won't give you blisters at the end of the day. Blisters are the last thing you want to have on a hiking camping trip.
I've tried quite a few hiking boots that get good ratings from reviewers but the best one I've had yet are a pair of Timberlands. You really have to wear them yourself over a period of time to tell if it's the right one for you.
Flashlights and lanterns are essential camping equipments. Better yet, get the lights on a headgear so your hands are free when you need to go through some tricky terrain. Other essentials include a phone and extra batteries and you can check what else you need from camping gear checklists.
