The Care and Feeding of Camper Hammocks
If you have a camper hammock you know just how convenient - and comfy! - it can be to have one available when you are enjoying outdoor living. But if you want to get the maximum life and enjoyment from your camper hammock, you should do the following --
• When you first get your new camper hammock, don't just rush right out and use it (tempting as that might be).
• Don't leave your camping hammock out in bad weather. Not only will rain and snow cause fading of the fabrics, but it can weaken it (and the ropes) as well, making it unsafe to use.
• If you need to clean your camping hammock, give a care to the cleaning solution you use. Harsh cleaners and chemicals can strip the fabric of its protective coating and may perhaps also weaken it. It also won't be too enjoyable to lay in it and have to smell the vapors of a harsh chemical cleanser!
• If you have the family pet around when you go camping, don't allow them to climb up in your camping hammock - their nails can dig in, scratch and tear the fabric, or get the pet tangled in the netting. Blog about Camping If you absolutely MUST have your pet with you in your hammock, make sure that you are holding them in your arms the entire time (that also includes when sleeping).
