Your Camping Cooking Equipment Can Make Or Break Your Camping Experience.

Cooking & eating on camping trips can be like a fun picnic one after another, IF you are equipped with the right equipment for your cooking and dining pleasure. Being well equipped makes for a pleasurable and hassle free camping cooking & eating experience .

The sights and sounds on a camping trip makes for memorable vacations. There you are outdoors soaking in a little fun in the sun. At every meal, you get to dine with nature! Perhaps under the stars at night or near a scenic lake setting at lunch time. This is one reason why I find preparing a home cooked meal in an outdoor setting enjoyable and satisfying. As I cut up onions and garlic for a soup, I can smell the pine trees in the woods, hear the birds gaily chirping, watch squirrels scurry up and down the trees with their own meals, and feel that breeze through my hair, ahhhh... I take in all these sensations seriously and appreciatively. I embrace the cooking and eating experience in camping wholeheartedly, for I look at it as loving gifts I offer to my family. I am pleased to be able to nourish their bodies with nutritious food even on the road. With proper menu planning and equipment & food organization, you can avoid hassles of learning too late, that you forgot to bring this and that. :-)

Make your cooking & eating camping experience a pleasant one.

In camping, nothing can be worse than being in the middle of nowhere and then realizing you forgot your wok, for the many stir fries you planned on cooking. So one of the best investments you can make for camping trips is to find the right bins to store camping food equipment. It should fit in your vehicle, with easy access in and out.

We've used Sterilite and Rubber maid bins as shown in the photo below, to house our camping cooking equipment and food. Each bin holds it own particular items. You could designate one bin for plates, bowls, cutleries, napkins, kitchen towels, plastic wraps, ladles, etc. One for all the canned goods, peanut butter, bottled stuff. One for all the snacks and carbs like bread, crackers, cookies, nuts, dried fruits. One for condiments, sauces, grains, tea, coffee, cocoa, pasta. Find your own system that will make things easier for you to find items. Label them as necessary so other family members know where to put the camping equipment and supplies back. Keeping food and camping cooking equipment contained in containers make for ease in getting things in and out.

I remember our first major camping trips when I used just paper bags and plastic grocery bags to store everything. That was a pain and the bags lasted about two days and then they were goners. We ended up stuffing things here and there randomly, piling this over that, which made it inconvenient to find things. So try to find containers suitable for your camping style and vehicle cargo space.
