My father always uses empty aluminum cans, soda cans or beer cans to make an ashtray. I still remember, when i was like six years old, one of my friend's grandfather always make flower pots for plastic flowers out of empty soda cans.Enjoy viewing this squidoo lense which contains some of can art made by other people.

I would say ashtray, cause it seems like the most simple thing to make....but then again, no one in my house smokes. Hmmm..

I used to make little rocking chairs out of aluminium cans. Real easy to make but you need a good quality pair of scissors and plan on a few cuts to your fingers. Will make another one and send u a photo soon. Nice lens.

- I can't believe some of the things people make from beer cans. My husband remembers from being in Turkey back in the 1970s (military duty), that the local people would collect the beer cans and the cardboard box from the base trash. They made things using this free aluminum. The beer can boxes were used to cover the exterior of one house which the soldiers called the Budweiser House. Obviously the people were quite poor in that area.
