Miscarriage: A Personal Journey for Too Many Women

retweet

One of the most devastating things that can happen to a couple is to have that wonderful positive pregnancy test followed by a miscarriage. Whether it is days or weeks later, the hopes and dreams that have already started to form around this new little person in their life get crushed. One common cause of miscarriage is undiagnosed or undertreated hypothyroidism.

I know this because, although I have been blessed with seven beautiful children, I have congenital hypothyroidism. Despite knowing this and working hard to keep my thyroid levels regulated, I have had more miscarriages than I have had children. I hope something I post here can help another family through a difficult time to a successful pregnancy.

Thank you for this page (big hug) I am 25, I was pregnant just short of 3 months and lost my baby (had to go for operation) 2 months ago. Today I found out that I have Hypothyroidism symptoms and also learned that it can cause a miscarriage. What makes me angry is that my Doctor did not test me for anything to try and establish why it happened. But now I can do something about my Thyroid so it won't happen again.
