Birding in Canada is much more than a hobby.  Canada's Important Bird Areas Birding program is a science-based initiative to identify, conserve and monitor a network of sites that provide essential habitat for Canada's bird populations. .

The Canadian IBA On-Line Directory provides summary information for each of Canada's 597 Important Bird Areas. The directory can be queried to identify bird populations, habitat types, landuse activities, and the conservation status of Important Bird Areas across Canada.

This National Geographic classic shows the mystery of bird migration and the incredible journeys that birds undertake in the Americas each year with sixty-seven full illustrations. It is printed at a scale of 1 inch to every 316 miles. The Canadian Birdlist

I would love to take a birding trip to Canada. I see many of the same birds in down here in Alabama including American goldfinches,Herons,Cardinals and the Great Horned Owl. No Loons, unfortunately.

I live on a lake that is full of Canada Geese. Many people in the US try to classify them as an invader not realizing that their territory once covered all of North America until the early 20th Century when they were almost hunted to extinction in the States. They are just reclaiming the land that was always theirs.
