The cause or origin of disease.
After cardiovascular disease, cancer is the second leading cause of death in North America. Scientific investigations in the past few decades have shown that around 90% of cancers are due to environmental risk factors such as nutrition, occupation, lifestyle, etc.
In general, nutrition plays a major etiologic role, with about 35% of cancer incidence and mortality being due to improper dietary habits. The assessment of diet and its relationship to chronic diseases such as cancer is complicated by exposure time.
Cancer Treatments
Not every cancer treatment works the same for every patient. It depends a great deal on what type of cancer has been diagnosed, how much it has progressed, and what type of cancer treatments are effective at that particular stage. Some people opt not to proceed with any type of cancer treatment, which is also their choice.
