CANDID PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS

THE WAY THIS IS DONE is just being on the scene with Camera in hand. Plan to spend a little longer length of time, and just being ready to shoot at the right moment.

The setting can be anywhere that kids can interact and absorb their surroundings to blend into a memorable photo.

Outdoor Nature shots provide a perfect backdrop for candid shots, but the basic principles still apply. You do not want to photograph your vehicle, or garbage cans at street side in the background, lol. Just keep an eye on distractions and reposition yourself in order to get a photo you would want to stand on your mantle for years to come..

These are the moments you will cherish for a lifetime. The image of Jake being Jake, these all add up to a photo collection of your child going through the years as they were. A single photo or an album of photos which capture the special child you love.

The right moment is anytime in a child's day when you see a child doing what they love best, whether watching their favorite show, or playing with a special friend or eating their lunch. The moment is then. It is as simple as that.

As in this photo of Jacob cuddling with Angel a special pet. Angel our beautiful Yorkiepoo has since passed on, but we will have this memory forever of how much love was shared by a special pet and Jacob.

The beauty of Digital Photography is that you can take alot of shots, if you want to make sure you capture the image you are after, just keep on snapping. Even proffessional photographers have been known to take hundreds of shots to get that one perfect image they were after. So don't hold back, if some photos do not turn out, just click delete then take another..

This shot of Caylee our special granddaughter was taken through crisscrosses in the fence as she was running down the walk out to play, which provides a unique frame for the shot. Just a typical shot of Caylee in her everyday life which adds a bit of uniqueness taken in a different way.

You may not have crisscrossed fence posts, but you will have other natural settings in your yard or at the park which will add a little uniqueness to your shots.

Formal Photography may have its place, but during a recent Family photo shoot, I wanted to capture photos of the family which were real. The moments unexpected, but which showed the interaction of the family in a normal way. Absolutely not wanting the say cheese moment, but watching for the interaction shot. That I feel I captured with this shot of Caylee wanting attention from her mom, lol

So whether your digital photography equipment is used or brand new , you can start taking digital photos which will last a lifetime. Take some time and learn the basic features and experiment with a few different techniques and you will have all that is needed to capture some amazing photos.

I was lucky enough to receive a Nikon D80 as a birthday gift a couple years ago, and have since graduated to my Nikon D300s, both of which I love.
