A Candy Cane Christmas: Decorations, Lights and Gifts

Candy Cane Christmas decorating is the bomb! There are all kinds of innovative ideas here for spreading ChristmasCheer with Candy Cane outdoor lights, gifts, decor and yummy treats. From the traditional candies hanging on your tree to "going green" with LED selections - Yuletide decorating could never be easier!

Where Does the CandyCane Concept Originate?

Like many other Holiday Season symbols and icons, the CandyCane too originates in the First Christmas and religious symbolism. Like a hidden gem, these candies were first designed with the idea that "by His stripes, we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5).

The two colors, red and white show us the contrast between our scarlet sins, that Jesus' birth came to remove and then pure white as snow, depicting our righteousness and sinlessness that Jesus provides through his sacrifice on the cross. The gospel message in simple form.

The crook at the top of the twist, also speaks of Jesus as our shepherd, as we all like sheep have gone astray. Another point of view is the hardcandy held upside-down is a J for Jesus.

It's fascinating to discover that as long ago as the 1800's, someone thought of this tastey expression of the true meaning for the season.
