A Sweet Treat for the Cool Elite

Candy sushi is an awesome twist on a classic snack. It's great for parties - I even made some for a friend's wedding!

This is one recipe that is super fun to make with the kids. You can prepare the sheets before a birthday party and have the kids do the decorating and cutting. Fun!

Ingredients

1 box rice krispy cereal
1 package of mini marshmallows
gummy worms
twizzlers
fruit roll ups or fruit by the foot
gummy fish

Step One

Make your rice krispy treats according to the directions on the cereal box. The only modification you need to make is to add about 1/2 cup more of marshmallows. This keeps your sushi from being to crunchy. Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes before you do anything else.

Spoon out a big glob of the mixture onto a piece of wax paper that you have sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Use another piece of sprayed wax paper to push down onto the top of the glob, making it into a sheet about 3/4 of an inch thick.

Inserting the Candy

Place one twizzler and one long gummy worm (or several small ones) onto the sheet of rice krispy treats. Roll the rice krispy treats over the candy ONE TIME. It will be too thick if you keep on rolling it up. You should roll it just enough to have the candy covered.

Fruit Roll Up Seaweed

Cover the outside of your roll with colorful fruit roll ups. This part can get really sticky, so make sure to cover your hands with non-stick spray!

Finishing Up

Cut the roll into little sushi sections. You can also use the scraps to make some really cute Nigiri sushi! That's where the gummy fish come in. Get creative and make your sushi outstanding and tasty!
