2.Mass cell lump in your dog's mouth - This will require that you visually inspect the inside of your dog's mouth. If you notice your dog eating food on one side, he or she could have this problem. Again, have this checked out with a veterinarian.

3. Weight Loss - This symptom is a direct result of both of the above symptoms. Hopefully, you will notice one of the above symptoms first BEFORE you notice this one. This is the mark of a great pet owner.

This is a small list of symptoms that you should be aware of. Again, these symptoms don't necessarily equal cancer, but never the less, if noticed, they should be brought to a veterinarian's attention.

Common Mouth Tumors

There are 3 common mouth tumors that occur in dogs. They are:

1. Malignant melanomas - These are the most common mouth tumors found in dogs. They appear in older and can appear as dark lumps inside the mouth. They tend to spread early so by the time you have found them they have already spread to the lymph nodes of your dogs neck. Now you know why it's so important to check inside your dog's mouth!

2. Fibrosarcoma - These tumors usually do not spread until late but, like the above tumor, appear in older dogs. They often occur after surgery.

3. Squamous cell carcinomas - These tumors will also metastasize (spread) later in their development. Most of the time they tend to stay in one place.

As you can see, these common mouth tumors make it very important that you check your dogs mouth regularly. If you happen to notice anythin out of the ordinary, you should immediately take him to your local vet. Only a licensed veterinarian can properly ascertain and diagnose exactly what is wrong with your dog.

Canine Mouth Cancer

The Bottom Line!

The bottom line with canine mouth cancer or canine cancer period is that there are things that you can be doing RIGHT NOW that can fight or even eliminate cancer in your dog altogether! Your dogs body is very resilent and can handle almost anything, but processed food. That's right processed food. That processed dog food that you have been feeding him for the last 10 years has finally taken it's toll on him and cancer is the result.

Did you know that a remarkable 90% of canine cancers can be traced back to processed food! This is a largely unregulated BILLION dollar business. These are the people that feed your dog and mine! The chemicals and so-called "natural" ingredients that they put in these foods have been blamed for every kind of cancer that is ravaging our dogs to this day! You don't have to look far for proof.

Take a look at your dogs closest cousin, the wolf. Have you ever heard of a wolf in the wild catching cancer? No. Do you know why? Because a wolf in the wild eats a diet of raw meat and bone! But what happens if you bring that same wolf in and feed him a diet of processed food? Years later that same wolf has cancer! Raw meat and bone is the diet that Mother Nature intended for our dogs to eat. And make no mistake, our dogs are animals. If they weren't domesticated they would be out there running wild in the woods. Not all canine cancers can be blamed on the food but, when you look in the wild, there is no such thing! There is only a epidemic of canine cancer where the dogs are fed processed food!

If you have been paying attention to any kind of health news of the last 5 years, you would know that there has been a shift away from processed food and toward natural, healthier whole foods. Why hasn't that same shift been made for our dogs? Something to take a good look at...don't you think?
