Thinking About Buying The Canon Powershot A1100 Digital Camera? You Should Read This First...

Stay away from the Canon Powershot A1100 if you're looking for a low priced, basic, easy to use, point and click camera... because it is anything but basic. This digital camera comes with a ton of distinctive capabilities, and the fact that it is priced so low can be very misleading. You get a lot more value than the low price tag leads you to believe.

The Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera has a ton of great, and easy to use features and settings. This makes it the perfect camera for a beginning digital photographer. As a matter of fact, the thing that makes this camera so user friendly is the fact that it is loaded with great functions. Here are a few of my favorite features:

My Favorite Features Of The Canon Powershot A1100 Digital Camera

Easy Mode Preset -- This is the setting that makes it especially easy to use. With all of the options to choose from (aperture speed, lighting, macro, etc.) taking a digital photo can be a bit scary. Thanks to the auto-mode, all of the guesswork is removed leaving you free to just point and shoot; and you get a great photo every time.

Included Software - The Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera comes with a software package that is super simple to install and use right away. Set up any picture organizing system on your computer, and upload your photos - either direct from the camera or from the sd card. Still have photos on your camera that you already downloaded? The software recognizes this and won't download duplicates to your hard drive. No more wasted time deleting multiple copies of photos.

The Batteries - I know, it seems like such a small thing; but when you've owned cameras that have specific batteries, or cameras that have to be plugged in to be recharged, finding a camera that runs on standard or rechargeable AA batteries seems like the best idea in the world. Plus if the battieries do run out (which they hardly ever do) I can simply pop in a new set and keep on going.

An "Old School" Look At New Technology

Here is an amusing story from an actual Canon A1100 Powershot user...

I had some reservations while I was considering buying the Canon A1100 Powershot. Let me explain. I'm what you might consider "old-school." I grew up listening to classic music: Al Greene, The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, and so on. My pictures came from rolls of film, so it seemed a little scary to have all of my pictures come from a little plastic chip. I took the plunge anyway, and I have to say I'm very happy with my Canon.

The Canon A1100 Powershot is a super easy to use - even if you've never used a digital camera. It takes pictures right out of the box; and the automatic picture setting (plus at least nine more presets) makes it that much easier. If you're new to digital photography, start with the easy mode -- it makes all the decisions for you. Once you're comfortable taking pictures you start playing the other settings.

All of my pictures so far have been nothing less than spectacular, thanks to the auto-mode. Even after blowing them up to eight by ten, the pictures are still as sharp as cut glass. The software that's included with the Canon A1100 Powershot is super easy to use, too. It remembers the pictures that are already downloaded to your PC and won't upload duplicate pictures.

At first glance, the buttons seemed a little scary. After I really looked at the buttons and their labels, though, I realized they weren't complicated at all. If I did get lost, there is a user guide that pretty easy to follow. Thanks to the Canon A1100 Powershot old-school meets new-school. 21st century, here I come.
