"I am very satisfied with this camcorder. Picture quality is very good for a standard definition camera and operating it is about as easy as it can get. On-camera editing capabilities are not extensive so if you need those you may want to look at the cameras higher in the lineup.
The only complaint may be with finalizing disks. You have to read the manual carefully as the charger must be plugged in and you have to be in play mode before it will even give you the option to finalize a disk. Fortunately you can change disks then go back and finalize them later.
I have had absolutely zero problems playing back finalized disks. Just put the disk in a DVD player and press play. "
What I like about the Canon DC210 DVD Camcorder
Probably one of the coolest features is the "quickstart" feature. Not only does it save time but you won't miss a thing. Just push this little button and there is absolutely no wait. The camcorder is on and ready to shoot in a second.

So What's the DVD in a Canon DC210 Digital DVD Camcorder?
Just what a DVD is all about
DVD, also known as "Digital Versatile Disc",
is an optical disc storage media format. Its main uses are video and data storage. DVDs are of the same dimensions as compact discs (CDs), but store more than six times as much data.
Variations of the term DVD often describe the way data is stored on the discs: DVD-ROM (Read Only Memory) has data that can only be read and not written; DVD-R and DVD+R can record data only once, and then function as a DVD-ROM; DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM can both record and erase data multiple times. The wavelength used by standard DVD lasers is 650 nm; thus, the light has a red color.
DVD Video and DVD Audio discs refer to properly formatted and structured video and audio content, respectively. Other types of DVDs, including those with video content, may be referred to as DVD Data discs.
As next-generation High Definition optical formats (such as Blu-ray Disc and the defunct HD DVD) have been developed, the original DVD is occasionally given the retronym SD DVD (for standard definition).DVD-Workshop: University of Utah and elsewhere, e.g. as the SD export preset for standard definition DVDs in Final Cut Pro.http://www.macworld.com/article/132446/2008/03/toast9.html
