Canon Digital Camera

Canon has two main production lines for digital cameras One is named EOS for a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) market. Another is called PowerShot for point-and-shoot or compact cameras.

About the EOS, it was chosen for Eos, the Titan Goddess of dawn in Greek mythology, and is often pronounced as a word (i.e., EE-oss).

The Canon PowerShot camera products are a line of consumer and prosumer grade digital cameras. This line was first launched in 1995. The PowerShot has been successful for Canon, and is one of the best-selling digital camera lines worldwide.
