This camera is not for the non-techie, like my sister, who does just fine with a simple disposable camera (okay well maybe she stepped up from the disposable to the camera on her blackberry).

I tested the video for memory consumption rate the day I got it, no problem for a 20 minute test run. "I received this two days ago and was really unsure about the T1i. I've read what scant reviews existed on Amazon and became somewhat concerned about the complaints of soft images. In the brief time I tested it I noticed my shots were coming out soft as well compared to my S3. Then after toying around with the settings I found that the "Standard" profile's sharpness was set on low. Not having dug that deep into the menu system, I believe it was the default setting making the images really soft. I now have it on max, or near max, and am more satisfied with the images. While increasing sharpness, images remain really smooth even at high ISOs. Overall, I'm more satisfied with the unit now that I've got the image sharpening down. With that said I still have more deliberating to do. " - G. Sunt

What To Expect With Your New Canon EOS Rebel

I must tell you this...Do not expect to be 100% satisfied. Just as anything else you purchase there are always going to be some type of fault with this digital camera. Many people complain about the video card and what type you have to purchase. Apparently the Kingston doesn't work all that well according to some reviews. If you decide that you need a card you should probably go with Sandisk 8 Gig Extreme III.

Other people complain about the view lens not being too up to par but consider this a minor fault. On the other hand almost everyone praises the LCD monitor.

Basically I say all this to say that you can expect to be very happy with some aspects of the camera and disappointed in others. You never know until you give it a try. Just remember, what some like you may dislike and what others hate you may love. With that said, the choice has to be yours. Hopefully you make the right one!
