Canon Powershot A1100 Digital Camera Review

I was a little intimidated at first by the Canon Powershot A1100 Digital Camera. I'd never been able to get a great picture out of the last digitaI camera I had simply because I couldn't figure out all the buttons. But I should have known that you "can with a Canon".

Upon first glance all the buttons on the Canon A1100 Powershot seemed a little confusing. There are three separate buttons on top of the camera alone. And the shutter release button has a ring around it! However, they were easy enough to fugure out. One is simply the power button, the ring around the shutter release button controls the zoom and the other button is for the different automatic settings that come pre-set with the camera.

But then you also have all the buttons on the back of the camera. There's six buttons, each labeled with two different words in two different colors! How was I going to figure that one out? In the end that was easily explained as well. The buttons were labeled in one color for playback functions and the other for shooting functions. Really, this Canon camera is very user friendly.

The other obstacle I had some initial trepidation about was the software. I'm no novice when it comes to computers but I'm not a programmer either. However, this software was really easy to download and use - so no problems there either.

So after overcoming some of my initial fears of using the Canon Powershot A1100, I should probably tell you that the quality of the pictures is wonderful. Of course, you probably wouldn't expect anything less with a Canon. The colors are all vivid and true and they even stay sharp when you enlarge your photos.

The Auto Mode Setting- this setting takes all the guess work out of digital photography. If you've never used a digital camera before you may be worried about all those different settings. The Auto setting on the Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera takes over and makes all those difficult decisions regarding lighting and lens speed for you. And you get a perfect picture every time.

The Batteries - I especially like the fact that I can use rechargeable batteries in my Canon Powershot A1100 digital camera. I'm always on the lookout for ways I can do my part to protect the environment and using NiCads certainly helps. But I really like my camera never runs out of battery life like so many other cameras on the market. When the batteries run out, I just pop them out, replace them, and keep on shooting.

So if you're after a feature laden affordable digital camera that is easy to use, then you really can't go wrong with the Canon Powershot A1100.
