"It is great as a daily camera. I use it for documenting reports. The macro is more convenient than a field copy machine for copying documents on low or high quality. Shoot, save, transfer to my lap top and I am good to go.". February 10, 2011

In Conclusion
There's no doubt that the Canon Powershot A495 offers very good value for money. While it is a step up from the A480 it is not a massive step forward and is more expensive.
This is a simple to use highly responsive point and click camera, perfect as a go anywhere camera or as a second camera for a more enthusiastic photographer.
Some people have found the battery useage to be excessive and the 37mm lens to not be overly wideangle but overall this is a competent and affordable digital camera.
