What People are Saying About This Camera
"The pictures it takes are excellent. I am not a professional photographer, but I have posted pictures where my friends ask me if I have had professional training. I give a great deal of credit to the camera." ~ Jeudi @ Canon.com
"I am a complete camera novice. I was able to take the camera out of the box and in minutes was taking quality photographs. I took action photos that were crisp and clear and actually caught the action I was trying to capture. The zoom is amazing." ~ madmac @ Canon.com
"I went out for a "test ride" with my new SX 20 to shoot the fall foliage while it was at its peak. The results are absolutely stunning! I was able to zoom in and actually catch the intricate veins of the leaves, and the shot is crisp and crystal clear - no fuzziness." ~ ZShutterbug @ Canon.com
What if Your Canon PowerShot SX20IS Camera Needs Service?
My Experience With Canon Customer Service
I have been using Canon Powershot Cameras almost exclusively since I purchased a Canon Powershot G2 in 2002. The cameras have worked great, for the most part.My Canon Powershot S5IS had a little bit of trouble. After a few months of ownership, the light sensor wasn't working correctly. I checked the settings on my own, but it didn't seem like it was my fault that the pictures that I was taking were washed-out. So I called Canon Customer Service.
They were extremely helpful and pleasant. The representative talked me through a few troubleshooting steps on the phone, and once we ensured that it was the camera malfunctioning, and not my photography skills, they told me to send it on in to their repair shop.
I didn't realize that they had sent me an email with a form to fill out. I typed up a nice letter to them explaining what was wrong, and included my receipt, because it was under warranty. I almost sent the camera in without a return address (woops). I realized my mistake at the post office, and hand-wrote my address on the letter that I was sending along with the camera.
The customer service representative told me that it might take a couple of weeks, and I was pleasantly surprised to have the camera back, in perfect working condition, within a week. There were no more problems with the camera.
